What are the main differences between the Bema Seat judgement and the Great White Throne Judgement? Won't we be judged by our works during both judgments? I guess one of the main differences is one judgement is for the saved while the other will be for the lost. Will we also as Christians have to accept the consequences of our actions for like say for example swearing and idle talk like it says in Matthew 12:36? Or is that only for the Great White Throne Judgement? Will there be varying degrees of punishment for the Great White Throne judgement? Otherwise why be judged for every idle word you speak? You're going to the Lake of Fire anyway might as well do as much sin as you possibly can. See what I'm saying? What are the main differences between both judgments?

He lays out the different judgements, what they are for and who is being judged.

It looks like what is called the Bema Seat judgment is one of how someone built up the church. And as such there would be reward and/or suffer loss but even with loss though will be saved.

    1 Corinthians 13: ESV
5What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, as the Lord assigned to each. 6I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor. 9For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

10According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilledb master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. 15If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

Matthew 25:31-46 and Revelation 20:11-15 is final Judgment or the Great White Throne Judgment. This will be the separation of the sheep (eternal life) from the goats (eternal punishment).

So I finished watching the video. It answered a lot of my questions but one question it didn't answer was if were judged based on what idle words we speak than what consequences are there? In other words how are we judged? Do we suffer loss of rewards? Based on what we've done for Christ?

So let's say a Christian does all he can for the Lord yet doesn't watch his mouth and swears a lot and uses the Lords name in vain that person will still be rewarded for the works that he's done right? But yet will lose some of the rewards prepared for him because he didn't mind his tongue? Or committed bad sins in his life? Or will our sins be remembered by God no more?

In the New Covenant we already have forgiveness of sins. We can repent and walk away from those sins and not lose any rewards, in fact we may learn valuable lessons we can share with others to help them and gain more rewards.

Martin Luther did say, SIN BOLDLY.

In other words, as long as you know you aren't saved, live it up. However, as soon as you know the forgiveness of Christ, it ought to change your life.

I would say that anyone who did that was not a Christian.

    • Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
    There is only one judgement.

I don't know. I simply heard it through the grapevine. He is pretty famous for making that statement. Maybe try googling it.

So it is just hearsay and probably not true. It is wise not to post, that somebody said something unless you can give the source.

So we will not be judged based on our sins? But during the Great White Throne judgement people will be judged according to their sins. I think I get it now. Christ will be judging us based on what we have done with our earthly lives and by our works. Unbelievers will be judged based on their sins and works. But what about varying degrees of punishment for unbelievers? What's to stop an unbeliever from commiting as much sin as possible?

Really? I know I don't watch my mouth and I'm just as much of a Christian as you are. I don't blaspheme the name of God but I do cuss a lot and not watch or care about what I say. One day I will be judged for it.

Actually there are multiple judgements listed in the Bible. But I'm referring to the judgement of believers and unbelievers.

There are many that believe there are varying levels or degrees of torment in hell/lake of fire. We are not clearly given those details in the bible.
