Well? Tell us!

I really need to keep my focus on what matters. It's too easy to get distracted and sidetracked by social media (including CF). There is nothing productive or fruitful about engaging with people who only want to fight, argue, and belittle everyone else. And it boggles my mind that many of these verbal tussles happen between professing Christians. As the old saying goes, "With friends like these, who needs enemies?"

I can't wait until this election is over (and decided, however long that takes). I'd like to think that we could go back to some sort of semi-normal existence, but the more I think about it, the more I expect it'll just be another four years of complaining, moaning, and whining, until the next election cycle. Seems to be the way of society anymore.

Perhaps we should all just turn off the news, get off social media, and head to whatever technology-free wilderness area seems most appealing to each of us, to rediscover our humanity again.

Like everything else, our technology is a double-edged sword. We have instant, low-cost communication around the world (internet), but because social media is generally anonymous, it is largely populated by bad-mannered people who treat others rudely. It makes the low-tech wilderness look appealing. There's a lesson here for all of us.

Reality is boring so I reminisce of when the dog read a prophecy from an orange peel.

It was a load of non-sense, but fun to remember.

Then again this is around the time I usually go to sleep, so maybe my brain started dreaming on me. lol.

Like some people only drink on new years, I only give myself 1 week to engage heavily in political discussion - the week of the elections. That got me my first report here. So I'm all in for that wilderness trip!

Ditch the TV - we did years ago.

Manage your news intake - make sure you choose what you watch.

Get out into nature alone for prayer at least once a week.

Redeeming the time for the days are evil !!

To do this... Ask for the desires to do His will.

Consistently seek His priorities.

Ask for and expect divine intervention as He takes over your life.

Thy will be done starts with US.

Present yourself to Him as a vessel for Him to use daily.

Then watch what He does and be filled with joy and thanksgiving.

What else is there to live for ??? Really ???

Odd, but nice that you should ask. How funny Jim Ignatowski from Taxi is. How bright it is outside with the snow reflecting the moonlight. I wonder if these Himalayan salt lamps really absorb and emit half of what is claimed. I need to pay the bills. I need to get that starter ordered and installed this week oh and the PS fluid purge. I am really getting tired of that airbed. I'll leave the ceiling fan on tonight again to help mix up the heat. I need to get the humidifier from the pole barn, some new evaporating pads, and make sure chemicals are in stock. I hope that I can find a comfortable sleeping position tonight. I do hope that you are doing well, Nerdgirl123. Jesus loves you so much. He is with you right now. He promises never to leave or forsake us, a promise humans can make but eventually break. It is late. I hope that you have a good night's sleep. Good night.

I think that's a very wise policy, and I'm sorry that when you dared dip your toe into it here, you got reported.

Wilderness trip it is!

Here's a follow-up question then, for all of you: If you were going to unplug and recharge, away from all technology for a week (or a month!), where would you want to go for your sabbatical?

I ditched cable TV years ago, and don't miss it a bit. I do still have a TV, though, for movies or streaming things I want to watch.

News intake is a big one. My gosh, we are inundated like never before in human history, with "news", opinions, political and social agendas, scare tactics, fear mongering, divisiveness... it's no wonder the rates of anxiety and depression are at unprecedented numbers. I think it would do humanity a world of good to STOP watching/reading the "news" so much, and get back to focusing on their families and communities. The places where they can actually have the most impact and influence for good. Fretting about every event taking place in other parts of the country/world, 24 hours a day, is not what our psyches were designed for, and it creates a tremendous amount of stress and frustration because we're unable to do anything. We have news and social media outlets constantly shoving stories in our faces and crying, "CARE ABOUT THIS! CARE ABOUT THIS!" But we're just one person, at the end of the day. And our hearts and minds cannot bleed about every problem out there. We need to focus our caring and our energies on those closest to us, those we have the ability to do something about.

Getting out into nature is incredibly cathartic. And not just for "nature lovers". We're designed to be in tune with the earth we live on. God's attributes are especially poignant in the natural world. It's not always possible to get out there on a weekly basis for me, but I cherish my hikes.

Thanks for your wise advice! :)

What a delightful post! I love that your brain seems to be all over the place at once; mine is much the same :D I hope you had a lovely sleep yourself, and that you got comfortable on your air mattress!

Yes, before I was a Christian long, long, long ago I was a Pothead for a couple of years and the group which inducted/accepted me gave me the nickname "Orbit" 'cause I would talk about several things at one time integrating them as I went along. They thought listening to me was a "trip" when high and they seemed to love my contribution to that game we used to play where each person gives a word to make a continual sentence as we sat in a circle passing the bong around. I thought that that time was real and meaningful but I was young and foolish. The only meaning I derived from it is that people you think are friends use and abuse you. And how can it be real when it is an artificially induced mind frame of which you do not normally operate to accomplish the responsibilities/realities of life?

A best friend of several years once told me while noticing my inability to be spontaneous in social dialog that I need to stop thinking so much. He really meant me well. I thought it was amazing and wonderful that he could be so open, frank, and honest. But when someone is presented with a communication from another most of the time they do not get sufficient detail regarding all kinds of considerations and angles of which my mind engages of exactly what and why they said what they said so that I could appropriately respond. Communication is a critical aspect of being human. It should not be taken lightly and if one operates in love for others, especially, treated with great care in deliverance/transmitting and comprehending/ receiving. If one wants to be understood then they owe it to the other to try to give enough detail to be understood; or just do not waste everybody's time making them ask you a zillion questions trying to make discovery. But, I am far from perfect in this and I try to be patient as I also need other's patience but some people, esp those who speak cryptically or in one sentence or less, just a clause, are SO trying. I think a lot of those who speak with one liners or less are more focused upon tallying up their profile post#s than the person or topic. Just about every one of my posts equates to a hundred or more of those quickie injections and maybe that is my problem. I am sure that some think so. But it is me. I want to be accurately understood with as little assumption and presumption involved.

Here, online w/o visible body language, posture, and position and vocal intonation, inflection, and volume and eye contact and other things available it is SO much more important to offer up the depth of detail but many never try to dive into the depths where the real beauty of truth lies. Most seem oblivious to that or they just do not care or are afraid, I guess. Life is just too short to waste one's and everybody else's life not to even try to effectively communicate one's thoughts so people easily can understand what they are saying.

I tend to babble selectively; if I have something that I feel is important to say, or if I'm talking about a topic that I feel passionate about.

I don't often do one-liner posts, but sometimes I'm busy, I'm distracted, or I'm too tired to find more words :D

Please do not respond with ugliness.

May God bless our President, our nation, and His children.

Have you found out more about how deep Biden's ties are with the Socialistic society, The World Economic Forum, whose worldwide Great Restart Program/Incentive, supported by the extreme left worldwide, has many of its incentives assimilated even word for word into Biden's, Build Back Better program/incentive. Joe Biden's disturbing connection to the socialist 'Great Reset' movement
