  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Work.... just so frustrating. I came here to write about it, but honestly, I'm not sure what to think anymore. All I know is that there was a time that I was naïve enough to think that that I could someday learn to work with the union at my job (yes, I am "management"), but that hope has since disappeared. Its sort of sad really, that many of the people who rank highest in the union know how to play the game, and know how to play it well - and unfortunately, those are the people who I need to work with everyday. And what's really frustrating is that if you stand up to them, experience so far has shown me that you can't count on upper management to stand up with you, regardless of how right you are in your position and actions. So it ends up that everyone strives to maintain the status quo.... play politics, and no one accomplishes anything. At least not at the pace that it would be accomplished in a normal workplace. And outsiders (contractors) can see it, but its like anyone who works in the plant has become so numb to it that they don't even recognize it anymore.

Seriously - all I want to do is come to work, work hard and efficiently, and feel proud of what I do when I come home. I honestly felt that there were at least some people in the union that felt the same. I still know that there is... its just really disappointing when you have a few bad apples that spoil the bunch, so to speak.

I'm sorry to hear that bro. It can definitely be frustrating. I'll keep this situation in my prayers. Are there any better options for you? Or are you content to stay?

Found this written in my journal from several years ago, and it stood out to me.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
And they who worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown in the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?" or "What shall we wear?" For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matthew 6:25-34

This is one of my favorite passages of Scripture. :)

3 hours of sleep? No problem....I got this. At least that is what I am telling myself.
You can do it! I promise if I can do it, I know you can! I always tell myself I can catch up on sleep over the weekend. ^_^

posted a political meme last night, someone left a snide comment. I used facts and explained both it and my reasoning for posting it. Woke up unfriend ed. Why is it only one side is allowed to voice their opinion?

Yeah, I've noticed this. I've had fb friends that regularly post jokes and memes that could be offensive to some on their friends' list and that's totally okay, but then they lose their mind when someone posts something that makes fun of their ideals. This is why I avoid fb posts concerning politics like the plague. I pick my battles. I'd much rather smack talk and poke fun at their favorite baseball team, lol.
