  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Aww... you're sick?
*comically drags a couch and puts it in place * have a lay on this comfy thing!
Not terribly. My nose was killing me pretty bad Saturday and Sunday, but I've been mostly good since yesterday.
*looks at comfy couch longingly*
Oh don't feed my laziness!

Wait a minute... there's still water even in sweet tea... no?

Yes but I doubt drinking sweet tea eight times a day is gonna be just as good for me as plain water.

Ive been drinking sweet iced tea since I was a baby. Mom used to put it in my baby bottle. Ive never had kidney or bladder problem. Never had any infections or stones. Tea is very good for you.

Artificial sweeteners, saccharine, aspartame ( and if you don't like that) sucralose, or Acesulfame K (Acesulfame Potassium, which you can also bake with).

*tries not to heave out of disgust from aspartame...*
Organic sugar please!

I remember a time when the only artificial sweetener we had was saccharine. Have you ever had the old soft drink "Tab"? That was truly disgusting. Diabetes runs in my family. My mom is diabetic. Type II. So, its either use artificial sweeteners or drink plain water.

Have you tried agave nectar?

That reminds me of this scene from Sleeping Beauty. No idea why though.

Pound for pound you're better off with Aspartame. Most of the studies alluding to its dangers have been long debunked. I just don't like how it dries my mouth.

Nope. Hard enough trying to get her to try "new fangled" things.

My dad is type two diabetic, he controls it with diet alone; no insulin. Agave nectar is very sweet (tequila is made from agave), and it actually has some health benifits to it. My dad did great on it and my mom would use it in recipes for him. And it tastes amazing with iced tea.

Another one to look into is maple syrup- *real maple* not Mrs Butterworth's or Log Cabin. The real stuff.

I honestly don't buy that.
