I admitted to my 12th grade english teacher when she was signing my yearbook that I didn't like 1984.

She was surprised.
I can't say I've read any of those other books you mentioned; but speaking of Shakespeare I should read Much Ado About Nothing. I found the movie adaptations I've seen humorous. I enjoyed reading Hamlet in high school; I cast my dolls as the different roles and it made it much easier for me to read the play. I couldn't read Romeo and Juliet when I tried.. perhaps its just the story that doesn't appeal to me.
I realized at some point that the Lion King was inspired by the Hamlet play.

I watched Lion King last week and its making me want to read Hamlet again to compare.
you did not like 1984?????
how is that a thing? hahah sorry
like when I was a kid, I had a learning disability, it took me years to catch back up with the rest of my class when it came to reading
even when my reading abilities were technically on the same level as my peers, I did not read for fun and I was a slow reader
when I was 14 I read 1984 in two days, I could not put it down, and that book exploded my love of reading
the concepts were what I found most interesting, lol I have a soft spot for philosophy loosely put into novel form

I have probably read that book at least 5 times in my life
what about The Great Gatsby?
did you see the Baz Lurman movie? what did you think?
I thought it was ok, like some parts of it were over the top, but that is his style of movie making, so I was kinda already expecting that
and yes, Lion King is kinda loosely Hamlet
I like Hamlet better though.... lol, I dunno, not to be a stick in the mud, but The Lion King never really got to me, like it makes sense that the Hyenas would want to try and be able to hunt too
what are some books you do like?
