My primary Bible is "God's Word to the Nations" translated by World Books in Cleveland, Ohio in 1995. It's an extremely accurate translation and if you like the accuracy and content of the KJV but not the archaic language, this is the Bible for you!
The two I regularly use are the New Oxford Annotated Bible (NRSV) and the St. Joseph Bible (NAB). I wish I had a New Jerusalem Bible and an REV, but there's only so much money I can spend.
I use the NRSV primarily. I also have RSV, NIV, NAS, NLT (just got as a random christmas gift. haven't read it yet. It's a life application bible and some of their info isn't accurate), and the NA27 Greek New Testament.
I would like to look at a NAB and a New Jerusalem translation too.
I had an NIV from a friend that was very helpful, it was easier to read then some like KJV. I like the ones in plain modern English too. I need to get a new Bible though because I don't have one anymore. Suggestions?
The NIV study bible is a great bible. Not because it's NIV necessarily. It just has a lot of easy to understand, useful information. You can't beat it.
