I'm gathering people's viewpoint on how they envision heaven to be like. Have you ever wonder what will heaven be like? What does Heaven look like? Feel free to post your thoughts!
We teamed up with Faith Counseling. Can they help you today?

I recommend 'Heaven' by Randy Alcorn if you are interested, he draws you into a deeper contemplation of what we should expect in the next world.

Remember "we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells" ( 2 Pet. 3:13). When we die, we enter into a temporal paradise where Christ is present right now. But, when he returns there will be a resurrection of all people who had ever lived to give an account to God. The righteous will be resurrected in glory and enter a renewed earth, like our own but free from the effects of the fall and sin, while the unrighteous will be resurrected in shame and enter eternal punishment in hell. What we are expecting is a real physical place, not the fairy tale disembodied existence that people too often believe. In the future heaven, which is the new earth, there will be mountains and ravines, rivers and forests, and all the things that will look like our own world. Whereas the world here is full of darkness, evil, and chaos, the kingdom will be a whole world full of glorified, sinless, and righteous people who love God and each other perfectly. Imagine our own world, but with everything aligned to the will of God.

Did not Jesus say the Kingdom of Heaven is now in your midst,

when He and His followers were with others who were those who sought to kill Him/them?

He told the disciples "You are ALREADY in the Kingdom, start living like it."

    Revelation 4

    The Throne in Heaven

4 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. 3 And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings[a] and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God, 6 and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal.

    Revelation 22:1-5

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

    Revelation 21:22-27

22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, 25 and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. 26 They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations. 27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

    Revelation 21:21-25

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there.

One thing we know, is heaven is about God not us, we will be about His business. Still in a hurry to get there if that's the case ? All I can think of is what the apostle John spoke of personally.

I think people are deluded as to what it is. For one thing, what it is now and what John saw is not the end thing that it will be one day.... And that day also no one knows when. But people often think of it as some sort of fairy tale land where we kick back for eternity. My thought on that is that it's unlikely. I'm not planning on bringing my best fly rod because the salmon fishing is wonderful there. No, it's about God like all things have always been about God. But we will be at peace with that, even in awe ! What will be so great is occupying His space with Him and being welcome to do so..

Where will the throne room be ? I'd love to know but have no clue now.

    What will heaven be like?

That is difficult, and thrilling to think about! I would like to believe that my spiritual gifts would play a part to help bring glory to God in heaven, which mine is creativity. I could see myself making something for God to be honest
Or...running around the city, and decorating with other people.
Sorry, it's not in the Bible but I hope I get to do that!

Then, when we worship, maybe Jesus would tell us his new parables, and we would sit listening to him. It would be like seeing the Bible come to life, like how the Gospels were written. I think the Apostles would want us to experience Jesus's teachings too, and would invite us to see it.

I hope it's a possibility, but heaven...I have no idea what God has planned for us.
