Brothers and sisters, according to the manna story Moses kept a Sabbath from morning to morning. Every day except the day before a Sabbath, collected was the manna in the "morning" and lasted until the next "morning". The day before a Sabbath, it would last past the ending "morning" of the previous day until a second day that also ends in a "morning". Clearly, a day for the manna story because of the Sabbath is from "morning" to "morning". The Sabbath begins with a "morning" with no manna found and the previous day's manna lasts beyond the end "morning" of the previous day for two days instead of one. Notice that manna spoils in the morning, except when the next day is a Sabbath. For the manna story, the point on the line when the preparation day crosses over to the Sabbath is when it does not spoil in the morning.

Then Moses said to them, “No one is to keep any of it until morning.” However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell. So Moses was angry with them. Each morning everyone gathered as much as they needed, and when the sun grew hot, it melted away. On the sixth day, they gathered twice as much—two omers for each person—and the leaders of the community came and reported this to Moses. He said to them, “This is what the Lord commanded: ‘Tomorrow is to be a day of sabbath rest, a holy sabbath to the Lord. So bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. Save whatever is left and keep it until morning.’ ” So they saved it until morning, as Moses commanded, and it did not stink or get maggots in it. “Eat it today,” Moses said, “because today is a sabbath to the Lord. You will not find any of it on the ground today. Six days you are to gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.” (Exodus 16:19-26 NIV)

This is consistent with what Genesis reveals! God set the days of creation from morning to morning. In the case of the first day from first light to light again in the morning and later days until the Sabbath from morning to morning.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5 NIV)

"from (start of) evening to (start of) evening" = Evening and morning.
Brother, thanks for participating. You are a brave person. The statement shows blind faith in a tradition that assumes something is right when clearly wrong. Clearly the first day is from first light to light again in the morning and later days until the Sabbath from morning to morning.

Why is this important?
Brother, it is the "sign" between us and God that shows that God sanctifies us. Without the "sign", there is no guarantee that we belong to Him and follow Him. Without the "sign" we deceive ourselves into believing that sanctified are we by Him when we do not follow Him and are no better than someone who does not, like the Good Samaritan.

Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them. (Ezekiel 20:12 NJKV)

Brother, Moses never entered the promised land. The only Sabbath he kept was the manna-Sabbath from morning to morning.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5 NIV)

It is important for those who keep the Ten Commandments - including the Sabbath - knowing when it starts and when it ends. but the proposal here for when that is does not fit either Genesis 1 or Lev 23, so not much I can do with it.

We have been through this with you before. You were wrong then and you are wrong now. You keep repeating your biased theory. People do not normally eat at night. So every morning they went out to get manna, but they could not keep any for the next day because if they did, it would rot. On the morning of erev Shabbat, they took double portions (the reason we bake 2 Challot for Shabbat), some to eat that day and some to eat the next morning/day on Shabbat. But ONLY on Shabbat it did not rot. It is simple...NOTHING implied that Shabbat begins in the morning.

So the Lord said to Moses, Behold! I am going to rain down for you bread from heaven, and the people shall go out and gather what is needed for the day, so that I can test them, whether or not they will follow My teaching.

And it shall be on the sixth day that when they prepare what they will bring, it will be double of what they gather every day.

Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, in the evening, you shall know that the Lord brought you out of the land of Egypt.

Brother, revealed is what your explanation in defense of tradition defies. The word of God clearly says when the manna spoils.

Then Moses said to them, “No one is to keep any of it until morning.” However, some of them paid no attention to Moses; they kept part of it until morning, but it was full of maggots and began to smell. So Moses was angry with them. (Exodus 16:19-20 NIV)

Yes, it spoils if kept because there is new manna. Again, that has absolutely NOTHING to do with your theory. Did you not read what I wrote??

Brother, the evening quail is a reaction to the people's hunger for meat as they had it in Egypt and it is not part of God's plan for the people. God's plan is the manna. The manna teaches them to keep the Sabbath as established in creation week from morning to morning.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5 NIV)

Darkness was first then light, Then our God made a separation or divide between the darkness and the light, time as we see it. The time of light he called Day and the time of darkness He called night. And because there is period of light and a period of darkness there is a notable transition, evening and morning, dusk and dawn

That is what we got. To postulate anything else is to speculate. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NOT A DEFINITE bases for when a day starts or when it ends.

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Gen 1:2 Now the earth was without shape and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the watery deep, but the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water.
Gen 1:3 God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light!
Gen 1:4 God saw that the light was good, so God separated the light from the darkness.
Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night, and there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

Rather than speculate we will follow the Lord. Here as you know in respect to Yom Kippur a Sabbath of Rest is instituted with parameters. At Even it was to start. From even unto even shall we celebrate the Sabbath. That is what we have and that is it. To Speculate anything else is to add what is not there. To think the weekly Sabbath was to be observed differently without a THUS Saith the LORD is to say what has not been plainly stated.

Lev 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Brother, all you need to understand is that between those two "evenings" there is a "morning" that divides the two periods that God called "night" and "day". The Sabbath in Israel has two periods that God called “night” and “day” of the same two words that are mirror images of each other: from evening to morning and from morning to evening.

The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening. (Exodus 18:13 NIV)

Above we have the period of light “from morning till evening” and below the period of darkness “from evening till morning”. The cloud that accompanied the people “looked like fire” at night.

On the day the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire. (Numbers 9:15 NIV)

knowing the previous revelations of God's word, recognize that the first day ends in the period that God called "night" because it began with the period of light. The first day is from the first light to light again in the morning and the following days until the first Sabbath from morning to morning.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5 NIV)

Brother, the passages show the periods that God named to find the period that ends the days of creation because God has nothing to report during the night from evening to morning and only creates during the 12 hours of light from morning to evening.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. (Genesis 1:3-5 NIV)

Brother, what about the manna the day before a Sabbath that normally spoils in the "morning"? When did the Sabbath begin without spoiling the manna from the previous day? When will that longer-lasting Sabbath manna spoil?

So they saved it until morning, as Moses commanded, and it did not stink or get maggots in it. “Eat it today,” Moses said, “because today is a sabbath to the Lord.
