What is the goal to be attained for reading the Holy Scripture?

• “The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and uprightness;” (Proverbs 1.1,3).

Certainly it isn’t to satisfy our whim. We should receive in meekness this word, so that it can be engrafted and, thus, to save our souls (see James 1.21), vouchsafing us, through the wisdom:

• instruction – to show us how we should live in order to be capable to be used by Jesus any time, in every circumstance, wherever;
• justice – the capacity to give our life so that people can be able to receive inside themselves Jesus and His word and, thus, to reach the level that Jesus put us;
• judgment – the treatment for our spiritual disease. Although this process is a little painful, this is necessary so that we can partake in the holiness of Jesus (Hebrews 12.10);
• uprightness – the capacity of staying faithful as pillar and foundation of the truth (1Timothy 3.15), that is to say, to serve of reference to the people that really pine for endure the sound doctrine (2Timothy 4.3,4).

So, let’s have a great day meditating on the Holy Scripture, not only to procure ken, but for improving our way of living; not only fulfilling what is pleasurable to us or when is convenient, but on a daily basis, everywhere, all the time.
