  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the difference between evidence, fact, and proof?

Tim Patterson wrote the operating system for Seattle Computer Products, and it was subsequently acquired by Microsoft.
Whomever it was, God gifts us these guys for two reasons:
  1. To make our lives better.
  2. To assist Israel.

They may have improved and developed the computer but they did not discover it.

Excuse me sunshine, but no computer could have been built had scientists not have developed the theories upon which its operation depends.

The computer is not a machine it is a processor.

And that silicon based processor fell out of thin air?
The heating problems were "magically" overcome?
It got reduced from the size of a football field to the size of a phone by "prayer" or "dreams"?

I will make this all easy for you. I can name this tune in one note: "outsiders". The computer was given to us by people like Steven Job.

1. It's "Steve Jobs"
2. Steve Jobs is not an engineer. He never build a single computer. Ever. He ordered others to do so and to come up with ways (HOW?) to make them better, faster, smaller.

All of these people have something in common, they are outsiders.

You're not making any sense and are dancing all around the actual points.

Modern computers are dependend on plenty of science. Without quantum mechanics, electro-magnetism and plenty of other scientific theories, an engineer wouldn't have a clue on how to build such a thing.

Science could not give us what only an nonconforming outsider can produce. In fact the very reason we are against science is the very reason you can not give science credit for having discovered the computer. They may have improved and developed the computer but they did not discover it.

I suggest you first try your best to understand the points being raised here, before continuing the discussion because this is just a waste of webspace and both our times.

If people want to survive then they will need to get off the grid or plan to get raptures out of here. What good is the nuclear power plant going to do anyone when the terrorists take it out and it is not producing power anymore.

O for crying out loud.........

If you don't have anything sensible and on-topic to say, I suggest you move your drivel elsewhere.

Yup ... scientists doing what they were put here to do.

What's your point?

Really? According to the Americans the first computer was ENIAC, built in 1947, and according to the British it was Colussus, built during the Second World War. Way back in the eighties personal computers which copied IBM's design were known as clones of the IBM PC.
I am talking about the computer you are using. We had to use a computer in college where you fed information in using a card with holes punched in it. I am sure you are not using one of those computers. My first computer was a commodore 64 and my second computer was an amiga 500. My aunt use to buy them for my son thinking it was important for his education. He got tired of that stuff pretty quick and then I use to play with his old toys.

I messed up my results so I stood outside the computer room and asked people to share their results with me. They were happy to because they wanted to check to see if they got the right answer. I then took a average of what I got from them and turned it in and the professor accepted it.

I have nothing to give you to help you to promote your "drivel". You and me clearly have a different agenda.

I am not a survivalist. I do not even plan to be around at that point in time. But for the people who will be "left behind", then they are going to have to make some preparation if they want to survive the "tribulation period".

You know where silicon is mined?

Sand.

Matthew 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Matthew 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

All those computers depend on science not only to be build, but also to work.

No. You rather clearly don't have a clue what the point is that is being raised.

I am not a survivalist. I do not even plan to be around at that point in time. But for the people who will be "left behind", then they are going to have to make some preparation if they want to survive the "tribulation period".

More random drivel.
This is not the topic nore does it have anything to with the topic.

No. You are not answering my questions. You are completely missing the point here.

We are talking about the science behind the technology.
The science that made the technology possible in the first place.

You start talking about operating systems (which actually requires computers to already exist) and other off-topic ramblins, which has nothing to do whatsoever with the points being made.

I was hoping that you would get the point that it is NOT the conformists but the non conformists to science that give us our new products and new discoveries. You want to take credit for the people who do not march to the party line. Even in all things you should give thanks to God, not to the god of science.

Do you want to put it all on a scale, the good science does and the evil they promote? The lives they save and the lives they destroy? The illness they cure and the illness they cause?

Maybe you should read the thread first.
Zosimus denies that science produces technology.

That's the point.

You can't build a computer without science.
You can't build a nuke or nuclear power plant without science.
You can't build an airplane without science.

For some reason, people started arguing against those obvious facts.

It's almost as if they are afraid of scientific inquiry. The horror, they might learn something!

Y2K is on the way!

(When scientists harped on Y2K, they got it all wrong as usual. But when God orchestrates Y2K, it's curtains!)

Revelation 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Revelation 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Revelation 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

I don't remember a single scientist doing that.
What I do remember, was a rumor or a small potential problem that, through the media and mass hysteria, turned it "zomg, all the nukes are going to launch by themselves!!! satelites will fall from the sky!!!! doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom!".

I remember well how we laughed at it all, while I was a student studying ICT.
