I’ve seen several Pentecostal Pastors hold these types of Doctorate degrees.

What is the difference between the two?
In your opinion, which of the two is more practical to have for a Church Lead Pastor?

It's going to depend on the college that awarded them. There are 4 options I've seen:

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theology -- reflecting advanced specialised study in some aspect of theology.

Doctor of Theology (ThD) -- similar to the PhD in theology.

Doctor of Divinity (DD) -- in the USA, this is generally a purely honorary degree, not involving any study at all (for example, Billy Graham was awarded a DD, because he was a famous evangelist)

Doctor of Ministry (DMin), including Doctor of Ministry in preaching -- generally a more practical, less academic degree than the PhD or ThD. Standards may vary substantially from college to college.
