Hillary should get out more and see how many Americans are simply not protecting themselves, or others. She should be aiming her criticism at the bigger problem of the cavalier attitude of the people toward the pandemic.

It's the responsibility of leaders to lead by example.

It's the responsibility of leaders to lead by example.

I agree. But failing that it becomes the citizen's responsibility to do the right thing.

The key phrase being "failing that."

Too many of our citizens are ideologically blocked from admitting that our "leader" has failed... they're following his (bad) example.

Don't you mean their leader?

Don't you mean their leader?

That would depend on the context.

With regards to demanding and receiving fealty and obedience, then yes, he is their leader.

Insofar as he has a responsibility to set an example (a responsibility he has hilariously failed at), then he is our leader.

But if most don't follow him how can you say he is really the leader? He's the leader in name only.

Leading Americans is like herding cats. ^_^

An untalented leader is a leader nonetheless.

Leadership isn't about the perks and the privileges, it's about the responsibility. His failure is the problem, not the excuse.

Well, he still seeks the counsel of others in decision making, so there's that.

And just because he fails as an example doesn't mean his supporters also fail as citizens. I can't emphasize that enough.

Indeed -- there's plenty of failure to go around for both him and his followers.

How is she relevant enough to create a thread about? I guess some people just can't get over her.

Relevant enough for MSNBC to run articles and keep promoting her - so......... I guess they just can't get over her.

Well, she did lose the Presidency twice, the second time to a third-rate real estate developer cum Game Show Host, but this post isn’t about HIM! no, this post is about how the LOSER of the 2016 Presidential Election talked mean about the WINNER! (or something)

I am not a supporter of any news agency - I do read from a pretty wide variety of news cites (I don't have cable TV - don't believe in paying for what I can get largely for free). I believe a person who reads from a variety of sources has a more balanced approach to issues. That is why I often encourage readers to do their own research and not blindly follow the media masters from either side.

That is a very telling post.

The Democratic National Party (in your opinion) in presenting their best qualified, highest funded candidate in history, could not defeat a "third-rate real estate developer cum Game Show Host".

How pitiful a statement on the DNC is that? Are they really that feckless? Have they changed any with trotting out Joe Biden?

If MSNBC is as far “left” as you’ll go to achieve this “more balanced approach”, just know it only seems “far left” in relative terms.

When did I say MSNBC was as far "left" as I'll go?

Oh, okay, my mistake.
As you might well know I’m a Kennedy/Rockefeller liberal, but even I take the “Daily kos” with 65mg of salt.

I love elements that Kennedy promoted:

Top to bottom tax cuts for people and businesses.

Just goes to show that for some people, winning is never enough. Every knee must bow.
