I can pretty much play about any instrument, except for woodwinds, anything with a reed. I simply have never been able to play those. Can't figure out the reed. My favorite are the guitar (acoustic for the most part; it's not that I don't like the electric guitar, but I just greatly prefer the sound of the acoustic, especially in alternate tunings) and the piano.

Cool! I've always wanted to learn the guitar. Maybe I'll pick it up one day.

I did A Masters of Music Theology in the Maraccas. :)
No just kidding. I play guitar, well,................. almost average ability and the recorder which is yes a very easy instrument to play.

Lol. It's fine to only be average and I actually can't play the recorder. I blow way too hard.

I still have a goal of playing mouth organ to go with the guitar, Bob Dylan style to play songs such as Tangled up in Blue. Looks pretty easy to be honest. Just haven't got round to buying the mouth organ or holder.

Keeping up with my hick nature, I play the banjo.
Also know how to play the harmonica, and the violin.

Was learning piano, but I snapped a few fingers, never got em treated, and they don't move like they used to.
Can still play it, it's just a lot harder.

One of my favorite stories ever told.

It fits into the Christians lifestyle extremely well.

And I think most people do feed the negative one more, which is why we need Christ.
sorry to hijack this thread, but I had to look up that signature on the net. It is a native Indian legend? Cherokee?
I find any thing that helps us see our faith journey from a different, fresh perspective is valuable. I might use it for another thread if you don't mind.

Lol not my story, so go ahead.

But yea, I do believe it originates from the Cherokee.

Again, playing into my hick heritage, I have Cherokee in my blood-line.
Not related to the point, just an anecdote :p

Acoustic/electric guitar
Bass (my main instrument)
Viola da Gamba - I have both a Treble and a full consort 7 string bass
Started off on sax (I occasionally pull out my C-melody)
Organ/synth
harmonica
Appalachian Dulcimer
Various odd percussion

BTW - I made from scratch the Treble Gamba and the bass I normally use. I have made other instruments as well. I am now working on building a double neck guitar, combined SG and Strat.

OY!! I HATE the sound of a harmonica in one of those clamps.
They always go flat and have no shaping to the sound.

I did not realize just how bad it sounded until I tried it in college and found out how bad it was. I went back and listened to a lot of recordings and to live musicians who used a harminica in one of those neck clamps. They all sounded bad. I have never found anyone who can make it sound well. Not Bob Dylan, Not Neil Young. Billy Joel is marginally tolerable in his using it on "Piano man."
