what i'm noticing

a lot of volunteering going on at places of business.

i would have thought the number of these people would have reduced when school started back, but i'm not sure. thoughts, opinions?

I'd say in a time when everyone is competing for jerbs, having a bit of a edge helps. Something with some "zazz" that makes ya stand out If that is what cha mean

true, but working for free doesn't exactly pay the bills.

Nope it doesn't. These days it's a catch 22. Need experience for the job but you need a job for the experience.

I know a few companies who call it an initiation of starvation. They want 12 months of experience, they don't want to be the company paying for a newbie to get those 12 months of experience. I've known people spend three years volunteering full time and working anywhere that will have them during their spare time so they can pay the bills and eat 10p noodles every day. You do what you can to appeal to employers.
