  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

lol. Then I imagine they would probably be reincarnated as something unpleasant.

    Daniel 12:2

2 And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to shame and everlasting contempt.

Resurrection is for everyone whether they want it or not, is my understanding.
It doesn't occur on earth, it occurs in the spiritual realm of heaven.
And I suspect the new bodies
    Will match the souls
    Very well.

Then I'd be shocked. There is zero evidence that any such scripture ever existed. You could suggest thousands of "what ifs" based on that sentence.

"What if greedy authorities hid bible verses from the world that talked about [fill in pet issue here] being real?"

    Replace the bracketed part with:
    • Time travel
    • people living on other planets
    • Jesus and satan are brothers
    • Ford is better than Chevy

Because, karma is about fairness. And romans 2:6 pretty much says that fairness is enforced by making each person pay for what they do.

    Pay during this life, then?

There are many such principles in Scripture, and also self-evident in our lives. Wrongdoing yields consequences, as Job's friends insisted, but sometimes "the wicked prosper", even, apparently until death. In the end, Job turned out to be right, that what was happening to him was not the result of his wrongdoing, but because God does whatever God pleases; even if God manipulates the Devil into doing things, that is his right.

But fairness is subjective, and a word search of any English language bible for the word "Fair" is very telling regaring Christianity and "fairness".

IMHO grace is not fair. We don't pay, for Jesus paid it all.

That is, in my opinion, the difference between Christianity and man made religion*.

*By "Man made religion" I include the Christian congregations/organizations created by man.

I like that dictionary; specially that first entry, was close to what I call a "usage dictionary" which is what I always wished I had. There are many words I am familiar with, which aren't even in most dictionaries, and words that I know mean more than just what the readily available (online) dictionaries show. One such word is 'economy', which can designate the framework, worldview, 'realm'. 'universe' or 'reality' from which one operates, and not be a reference to efficiency or anything to do with money. Such as: "God's economy is not like ours".

Another word I have heard used, but can't seem to find anywhere is "enroiled" which means something along the lines of 'totally involved with or in' or 'swept away by' as though by a rolling wave. I have said things like, "The human will of the Redeemed is totally enroiled in the work of God."

I thought that was "embroiled". Here is a fun one: Find an old dictionary from WWII or earlier and look up "computer". Yep. It's in there, but the definition is, um, different.

HA YES! You are right about 'computer'! I remember that from even in the 1950's. "A computist is a calculator"!

Maybe you are right and it is only 'embroiled'. hmm...
