Some might say well couldn't he have just given you the blessing without the suffering? The answer is yes but if he blesses you eternally after you have suffered for a lifetime then that blessing means so much more than if you have always had it good.

I see this in my life because God could have put me in a family where we have everything and life is as good as it gets but he wanted to give me the best he had and that meant enduring a life of poverty and severe illness. And I thank him for blessing me with knowing true pain and suffering so I could know true joy and happiness.

Suffering almost daily at times, but His loving goodness is so much more appreciated during those times. Jesus is worth it. He was made perfect through suffering. Suffering has been my best teacher. It kept me lowly and humble.

And it keeps us breathing, so there's that. If you hold you breath long enough, the pain becomes evident. If you take enough morphine to end your pain, you stop breathing. Pain is what life is. Also pain is your own invention. The signals and nerve paths are the same as pleasure and touch. It's all in your mind how they get interpreted.

This is coming from someone who is struggling with many things as well, but who has also experience a lot of freedom. Throughout my life I’ve discovered that God can use suffering to bring you into repentance. Like a pastor said, “if you only seek God when you are in trouble, He will love you enough to keep you in trouble so you don’t get lost”.

There are many reasons why we can be going through a painful situation; a test, a curse, an open door, sin, etc. The important thing is to identify what it is to be able to apply the right solution. For example, a counselor I know says that in thanksgiving to sit down and take a look at your family. How are they? What problems run in your family, what diseases? Maybe there's a family curse and you think it’s God’s blessing, so you don’t do anything when the right solution is break that curse with the authority the Lord gave you so the next generation doesn't suffer the same.

Also, something I keep in mind is, when I go to Heaven and present myself in front of the Father, what will be my first thought? 90% of people tell me they look back and wonder if they did good. But then I ask, who is your Savior? Jesus or your works? The same goes with pain, work, kids etc. If you allow pain to be your savior that is a dangerous thing. Go through pain, but also seek Jesus help, He is your Savior.

Jesus said He came to break the works of the devil, pain is not part of Heaven (do Your will on earth as it is in Heaven). Are we going to suffer pain, yes. Is there hope and restoration? Yes.

Just thought I should mention it. I grew up in a household that believed everything that happens (good or bad) is God's will. As I grew in the Lord He taught me many lies I believed and how I was serving my life on a silver platter to the devil. He showed me what He died for. He says the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came to give us life. Life is a substance, like is something that we can literally can obtain and it is ours, He is just preparing us to receive it, but you don’t give something valuable to someone who has a pauper mentality. The Bible says we are a chosen nation, royal priesthood and we must learn how our Father, the King, is and thinks. His identity us our identity. We were made in His image. Jesus is the image of the Father, we are supposed to be the image of Jesus. Study Jesus and you’ll understand what I mean. We are more powerful than we think and the Father and even creation is awaiting for a generation to wake up and realize it.

That would be nice, then I could rest assured all the pain was for something in the end.

I don't expect reward for my suffering. I expect that I either did something to deserve it, or that God is conditioning me with it.
Frankly between being crippled and just not being good with people I don't expect many rewards or blessings at all, because I have not been able to work for the kingdom to the degree that I'd like to.

The only suffering that earns reward is suffering for the sake of Christ.
If you're just sick.. well, it can be chastisement, a test, or used to condition you.
But if you're persecuted for the Word of God, you'll be rewarded for that.
But I can't say with my MS that I'm suffering for Jesus' sake. Because I wasn't given MS by the world or the Devil as a result of preaching the gospel.

So should I really expect compensation for having MS?
    No.
I just expect that I won't have MS anymore.

the roundabout way that something like that could lead to a blessing though, is like I said, conditioning. Say a person who's been suffering for a long time has gotten used to pain, and then worst case scenario some politician starts having Christians imprisoned or put in camps because of widespread persecution, you know, people have been talking about doing that to "deprogram" Trump supporters and a "Comedian" and late night show host even went so far as to say it should be done to Christians.. so hey maybe he gets his dream come true.
So now, being afflicted and expecting bad things to happen constantly, it's just another day to them... but now they're suffering for Christ, and because they suffer for Christ and are steadfast and don't break (where if that same person has always believed God would never let them suffer might break and lose their faith when they suffer).. they would be rewarded in heaven for suffering for Christ and keeping the faith.

Or, it's a test like what happened to Job, he was rewarded for passing the test, because his faith never broke.

In either case, the reward was not for suffering but for keeping faith through suffering.

I could cry me a river and there would be some relief but I would score no points with God.
Suffer in silence the bible says.
I pray you all will rise above it if you won't be healed.
    God bless you all.

    prayer

Trust God about any pain. Maybe I am helping to cause it; in this case, I need how God corrects me, then do what He guides me to do about it. And pray for Him to have me doing whatever else He wants.

Pray for how He wants me to be, during any pain. Don't get negative or complaining, but seek to obey You.

One time, I was in agony, and I was being still in order for God to get me out to it. It came to me, something like this > "Are you waiting on me, only to stop your own pain; or are you caring about others also who are suffering much more than you are?" So, I started trusting God to bless ones suffering much more than me, and the pain went away.

Oh, and while I was suffering I thanked God for how people were not suffering, but I prayed that He would have them living the right way, not only having it easy and supposing they were all set so they could do as they pleased.

I think it happened like that.

There are times when I am sick or not well like I understand I should be. And I might be concerned about if God really wants to heal me, and if I am somehow disobeying this. But I am encouraged that, though I am not sure what He wants, I can seek His kingdom first and He will add whatever healing and health He knows He really wants for me.

But pray this for others, too. Care about others as myself.

So being wealthy is the best way to prepare for eternity?

Jesus had some thoughts on that: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

You might want to reconsider what are the real lies you are believing.

Understand first what a blessing means. Many pastors say, Money, possessions, positions, good food are blessings from God. But I say it's heretical. If you also say, blessings are such things, well, then you are a servant of the world.

Do you still remember this verse?
Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ! ~ Galatians 1:10 NET

Study suffering in Christ, not suffering in the world. The world has its own sufferings, such as having no money, having no business, not doing business, having no food, no good friend, etc. But is suffering in Christ the same as the suffering of the world? No of course different.

So, I hope that the suffering you mean is not the suffering that leads to the suffering of the world that I mentioned above.

Focusing on others had a positive impact on my psyche when I was ill. It’s easy to get bogged down with your troubles and enter an endless loop of woe and self-pity. Aiding others who were hurting gave me something else to focus on. They were a source of comfort and support on the bad days. We served each other through our pain.

That had a life changing effect on what I entertain mentally. If I’ve done all I can to make things better; churning it in my head won’t change that. I’ll work myself into state for nothing. The mind-body connection is powerful. Your thoughts can make things worse.

I focus on the good instead. What God has done/is doing, how He’s blessing others, and so on. That lifts my spirits.

    Yours in His Service,

    ~bella

Please note that when I said “you don’t give something valuable to someone who has a pauper mentality.” I am referring to the concept of life (Jesus Himself). If you go to Genesis 3 you will find that God warned Adam and Eve not to eat from the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. It says that the fruit looked good to eat. They were seeing Knowledge and Evil, an actual fruit hanging from a tree and they ate knowledge. The same goes with the tree of Life. The Bible says there’s a tree in the middle of the New Jerusalem that gives fruit every month of the year.

Would you give something valuable as that to someone who will destroy it? The Bible even says not to toss your pearls to the pigs.

In regards of money, please note that God also says that the LOVE for money IS the root of all evil. We all need money in this world, even Jesus did when he was asked to pay a fee to enter a city. But when I was talking about a pauper mentality I was referring to something valuable in the Kingdom. Money isn't of value in the Kingdom.

since you reacted that way, maybe you should be the one reevaluating the lies you are believing.

That people think they are powerless and slaves to sin and to everything the devil did and keep doing. That people think they are victims when God sees them as His own, full of value. We are made of God Himself. We were made out of the dust of the earth which came from His own mouth (breath).

My whole point is, Jesus never accepted sickness. He healed and told us we could heal others as well. He went against people who were trying to stop the works of the Father. He even called them sons of the devil. The Lord always wants to restore, that is His nature. You can see it all over the Bible. You can see it when he tried helping Cain conquer sin. Why restoration (healing) is not happening? that’s what we need to find out. Something is blocking it, the root cause. Once we know, then we can apply the right solution.

Jesus miracles were signs (Jn 2:11 23, 3:2, 4:54, 6:2, 14, 26, 39, 12:37, 20:30); i.e., signs which show the nature of gospel grace or salvation (Lk 7:22), that he heals the infirmities of man's spirit.
Restoration in the NT is of the whole created order, physical and spiritual, in the new heavens and new earth, the home of righteousness, purified from all sin after the resurrection at the Second Coming at the end of time.
