What I dislike about Counter Strike is...

2) If you dont guard the bomb site/hostages, what were you thinking, you let them win
3) If someone runs into you, YOU are a blocker
4) If you run into someone else YOU are a blocker
5) If you dont get many kills you are n00b
6) If you get lots of kills you are a h4x0r
7) If you help a team mate out in combat and kill someone for them you have stolen THIER kill
8) If you wait to see if your team mate wins the gun battle or not, you are NOT giving backup
9) If someone says "rush left" and you dont, you are in the wrong
10) If YOU say "rush left" and no-one does, you are in the wrong
11) If you are the last left on your team and you choose to sneek around and try and win, you are a camper, a walker, and wasting too much time
12) If you are the last left on your team so you just run around, making noise and you get killed, you are a n00b and your team lost all because of you

I could go on but I wont. The way to survive Counter Strike? Don't listen to anyones critisism. Just play the game and have fun.

Solution:

Play TFC. Of course then you have to learn to bunnyhop if you want to get good. But that's what makes the game good. Rocket jumping fun!

Sunday night,
PLayed a whole round on Italy Map.
Did very poorly (think I was too tired) and ended the match with a score of around 6 kills - 20 Deaths.

The screems of "you n00b" were minimal and instead people were saying "Dont worry, we all have bad days". SHOCK HORROR!!! Where's all the rudeness gone?

Then Monday night I played a round on Office Map. Game of my life which ended with a score of something like 26 kills - 10 deaths. (I think a good nights sleep paid off)

While my team mates were pleased, the opposition were back to the normal comments of "sif, suss, h4x0r, how did he know where i was? etc etc"
Oh well........

all your complaints are referring to pubs....dont play in pubs. unless ofcourse you are a newbie at the game.

Even now I am way past n00b status I will NEVER go calling others n00b as it is used as an insult. I infact agressivly defend those taking flak online and point out that we all started somewhere and we all needed practice to get good.

People having a go at new players does not help them in the least.

I personly felt like giving up several times as the insults can be cruel and heartless. I soon just started ingnoring them and got on with my own game until I got good.

n00b indeed. If this was a public CS server, I know what I'd say to you, and thanks to online chat, it can be said with just 2 letters....

i couldnt stand CS. i mean i know its just part of the game...but there were too many etiquette rules, i.e. no camping. i liked that game the army released, americas army or army op or whatever it was called, it was way more realistic and people didnt tear you apart for hiding and sniping. i sucked at both lol, but it was way more fun to suck on americas army.

Yeah I really should try Americas Army. I downloaded it ages ago but never installed it.

As for CS etiquette, I just ignore it and play the game how it should be played, with a good combination of team work and sneeking around.

Shame there is no way of blocking chat on it.

1) No, not really. People call each other campers if they stay in the one place, racking up kills without being an asset to the team. AWPers are technically campers......well, most of them.
2) IF the other team is newbs, why not? Otherwise, you really are stupid....

I've quit playing CS.
Well mainly I felt God saying to me I must leave the game.

The things is the people that play this game at our university are extremely rude ont he server and most of them are on a downward slope of there life wasting away the course and so on.

Mostly the game had a very addicting affect on me.
I still think CS is a great game but the people of this world just spoils it!

please note I'm not saying you should quit playing! I'm saying God told me to stop playing. And yes it did have a marvelous possitive effect on my life to stop playing.

It is true that alot of CS players are like that, but the ones spouting off and calling everyone noobs are usually the noobs themselves. I'm a veteran at the game and I never call anyone a noob and if I see anyone calling someone else that I'll stand up for them and usually get the other to be quiet . Just need to ignore all that and keep playing and having fun, who cares what stupid things other players might say or do.

Do yourself a huge favour and try Day of Defeat, it's bundled with Steam. Seriously, seriously, check it out, I can't stand Counter-Strike for the same reasons you've posted, but DoD gets around those problems rather well. It's a team-based WWII mod, the best one out there if you ask me. It's good in every way CS is bad.

Just double click on the grayed out "Day of Defeat" field in your Steam Games list, it'll download it for you in a matter of minutes.
