Interested in theories to explain the ongoing delays with the Arizona hand count. Please note I think this is a serious question, this whole nonsense has created a lot of bad feeling, division, and has wasted a lot of money. This is not an attempt to goad anyone, but simply to raise and discuss questions that are quite reasonable to ask. If anyone finds this offensive for some reason, please explain why.

Personally, I think the delays are down to some combination of the following. I could of course be entirely wrong, so I’m interested in other views:

Attempts to make something look like nothing, pimping up anything they can make look vaguely suspicious, as a marketing ploy.

Drawing up contingencies or legal options should donors feel let down by the lack of results.

Contriving some attempt to explain away their failure to produce evidence of fraud, in the hope of being able to milk donors a while longer, or possibily generate some vague allegations of obstruction, interference etc in order to announce yet another audit.

It also seems likely that once the lack of any significant findings is made public, the conspiracy supporting media will come up with/promote some way of blaming this on the democrats, something along the lines of behind the scenes skullduggery aimed at preventing the ninjas from finding ‘the truth’. That pretty much seems a given.

I have been asking the same question. Posters who have been very vocal about the need for the audit on the ground that there were election irregularities which amounted to criminality have gone quiet. I interpret their silence as embarrassment.

There has never been any actual evidence for systematic fraud in the presidential election last November - in Arizona or anywhere else.

I agree with your posited reasons for Cyber Ninja's disappearance. Now that they have trousered the Republicans' money they have left the stage.

They’re going to need to come up with something though. A straightforward admission of failure to find evidence seems unlikely, what I’m wondering is how they will spin it and how successful that spin might be.

As of now,
Cyber Ninjas fails to submit partial report

Senate President Karen Fann, R-Prescott, said on August 23 that the Senate legal team would receive a partial draft of the report and would review it August 25. She attributed the delay in getting a full report to Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan and two members of his five-person team testing positive for Covid.

I can't open that link for some reason, but thanks for the info.

Morning, I simply googled cyber ninjas audit. I'm with you that this is just another attempt to keep lining pockets for those who doubt our election integrity.

I opened it. It reveals a vacuum - nobody has seen any report. Maybe there isn't one. The company has not produced anything. I would be asking for my money back.

There appear to be plans to pour more cash into the pit, tax money: State GOP leaders push new 2020 election reviews as Arizona report looms

I suppose if they can keep the kettle boiling through the next few years the absence of any evidence won't really be a problem. It seems to be a tactic that works, keep opening investigations and people will be willing to believe there's something dodgy going on, regardless of how often those investigations fail to produce anything.

Perhaps they're seeing the legal issues others have faced for lying about election fraud and have decided that a better strategy is just to disappear into the shadows.

Could be the US's Lord Lucan moment. Without the accusation of murder bit.

More likely though I think is the attempt to come up with better lies - how to hedge anything false with sufficient vagueness and generality to make it seem both convincing to those who want to believe and unspecific enough to avoid being sued.

A straightforward admission of failure

That would require something called 'repentance'
And possibly lead to something called humility
These are desirable qualities, but are they what cyber ninjas desire?
The desire to "be right" has to be greater than the desire to "be right about something in particular"
Or the desire to continue to collect funding in order to be wrong.
Food for thought in my own life.

Perhaps they're just waiting until mid-terms get closer before dredging up this misinformation campaign again. No point in stirring up the marks now if they're going to forget they're supposed to be outraged by the time the election rolls around.

This thread reminds me of threads about the Mueller investigation.

Similar to the Mueller investigation as presented in the conservative media perhaps, but not to the actual investigation.

It seems a bit of a stretch to compare the DoJ to cyber ninjas.

A comparison would exist if, after the original investigation was completed, someone had paid a low budget gumshoe specialising in catching wayward spouses triple his usual fee to carry out an investigation of the investigation, or something of that sort.

Maybe the Chinese and Italians hacked the cyber turtles database and stole all the evidence? Hahaha. Everyone living in reality knows how easy it is to gaslight and mislead the willfully ignorant. It's how fox "news" rose to prominence in the cable TV market. I am saddened to see leaders in America give credence to all the conspiracies used to manipulate people.
