A shipwrecked person was never saved, else they would have continued in the faith as delivered by Christ and the apostles.
Peter said we are kept by the power of God through faith FOR SALVATION and we are elect through God's foreknowing us, so our salvation then is certain, because God knows us as saved and so then He makes it certain.
.
1 Peter 1 New King James Version (NKJV)
Greeting to the Elect Pilgrims
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,

To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:

Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

A Heavenly Inheritance
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

The faith in this case = Christianity. Not individual faith of true believers.

““I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [the] faith on the earth?”” Luke 18:8 (NASB95)

Is it possible to shipwreck one's "vessel" of faith, a vessel that's been built up for years of saving faith, per say, and then complete the journey of Life and living Faith by escaping on a raft or swimming the rest of the way? Or relying on God's provision of friendly dolphins?

Hi Dave sup. Not sure the relevance of that scripture here. Care to elaborate? Have good day
“No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9 (NASB95)

So it pertains to false faith giving way which will also be characteristic of the days leading up to Christ's return.

Yes, If God shows mercy to the shipwrecked person so that they know the truth.
Paul writes about opponents, and a shipwrecked person would be one too.
Notice it says God may grant them repentance.
You can certainly pray for them.

2 Timothy 2:25-26 New King James Version (NKJV)
25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

People who are shipwrecked get captured by Satan to do his will, so they become God's opponents, and Christians also. Paul says a shipwrecked person has rejected faith.
.
1 Timothy 1:19-20 New King James Version (NKJV)
19 having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck, 20 of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I delivered to Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme.
