What do you think God does all day?

I believe the way we see God affects our soteriology .

Throughout History men have tried to understand the nature and actions of God as they relate to men.

Is God the God of Deists or has He chosen just not to see all or some things here?

Is God aloof or personal ?

Is He omniscient ?

God is infinate. There is know way to know what He is doing. I am sure no matter what He is doing though, He can handle it being all-powerful and all.

One of the characteristics of God is omnipresent..(he is everywhere , present to all things.)

Another is omniscience that he knows all things

God doesn't retire or die simply because creation unfolds according to His predeterminate council. He is not like us in that He wakes up & has to do something with His day.
Of course He is omniscient, as well as omnipresent. It could be correct to say He does ALL those things & nothing, but He does so (whatever) in relation to its effect.
He can be intimately involved one day, & remote the next.
What He "does all day" is His will.
Are you curious in general, or as to specifics? The specifics differ for each specific situation, of which there are many each day.

If He is present to all things and knows all things He is intimately involved with creation.

God can never be remote. He is always God with us.

He does not shield His eyes or look away.

I agree with this, but what otto might be attempting to get at is that God is transcendent. There's no contradiction in affirming that God is both transcendent (far beyond us) and emminent (intensly involved with us) as he is extends into creation and beyond it. Of course it isn't accurate to articulate that as "with us one day and remote the next".
