I haven't seen it, but will probably watch when it shows up on Netflix.
I wouldn't watch it for doctrine, but as an allegory, I've heard it was ok. I know there are some things going in that I'm going to have a problem with though and if I can't get past it, I'll just turn if off.

I finally watched it last night and absolutely loved it; it wasn't at all what I expected.
Yes, there were some doctrinal problems with it, but you shouldn't be getting your doctrine from a movie in the first place.

Read the book. Liked it but not loved it. Some things were "meh." Will watch the DVD. BTW, it's not an allegory. It's a metaphor. That from the author himself. Book is full of metaphors and it's fun to unpack its various themes.

Yes, it is a metaphor, not an allegory.

I know I'll get an infraction for saying this but it's heretical.
Really, an infraction ?

I know some (maybe many) got an infection from it ! :)

(when I first skimmed over the posts, that's actually what I though you posted ! haha)
