Well after smoking for 22 years I gave up and had not smoked for 2 and 1/2 years, when I started again. But I am going to stop again with help and my stop date is the 12 may. I am looking forward to that day and will have prepared myself for that day. It is not easy to stop but easy to begin so please pray for me as I know GOD is understanding of my situation and will help me give up again. Being a christian makes me feel pretty bad as my body is a temple where GOD dwells and I am polluting it so giving up should be easier I hope . With GODS help it will.:amen:

I smoked for 20 yrs. Started in High School, finally quit, when I got tired of hearing the kids complain. I struggled with the thought of it being a sin for quite awhile, mainly because I knew it was a stumbling block for others. God, however, loves me more than I know, and answered my prayer by letting me let go of the habit. Was tempted to restart for several years after I quit. But now have no desire, in fact I cant stand the smell of cigarettes now.

Almost everyone I know smokes, used to smoke, or is starting to smoke again. It's gross and smells bad. However, I am past the point of caring or saying anything. They already know how I feel about it. I have never had one myself, so I can't really understand what the draw is.

Unhealthy, highly addictive. Sin-not my job to be judgemental about, seems to me that's God's job. I love a lot of Christian who smoke. Are they going to heaven, depends on if they've accepted Jesus (also not my job to judge) not if they smoke or not. Let's stat majoring on majors (witnessing, loving others, helping those in need) and not on minors.

I think labelling smoking as a sin isn't up to us, and the same for having alcoholic drinks.

Some people smoke. Some people drink too much. Some people do both.

The thing is, it all comes down to personal choice and free will. If someone chooses to smoke, or drink, that is the choice of the individual. If someone then decides to quit, it's up to us to support them in that action.

I seriously admire those who have decided to quit smoking. I've not smoked, but I understand how hard it is to quit (I view it as being akin to me trying to give up chocolate). I wish them all the luck in the world, and pray that they succeed.

*hugs*

I love smoking cigarettes - it's my favorite relaxing past time. I'm 49 and have been smoking for 32 years. I do it in moderation and don't have any adverse effects from it.

I bicycle at least 1000 miles a year and walk every day. I don't cough and I feel fine.

It's a thing that I do - no more, no less
