Proverbs 16:9 is the only way I can really respond to this. If you are a Christian and trust in God's way, you will want to fall into alignment with his will, not asking him what you want from him, but what he wants you to do. I would start by praying and asking for him to guide you into what he wants YOU to do.

You ask God for a permanent job with good benefits and pay off your debts or open a window or teaching contract so you can get a teaching certification to teach. What do you do ?

Learn to pray in the way Christ said to us to pray. Some key pieces are in Matthew chapter 6 and in Luke chapter 11. More in John chapter 14 and 15. To abide in Him, we need to listen to His words to us in the gospels, and hear them. When we do, this listening and hearing changes us, and shows us the way ( the 'way' as in "the way the Truth and the Life").

When you pray the Lord's Prayer in Matthew chapter 6 you are actually praying in the words for several crucial things, including that your essential needs be met. Once you read how He said to pray and as you then pray the prayer He gave us, you should believe it will be given to you, because it's the very prayer He Himself said to you to pray, and that's a perfect reason to totally believe it will be given to you as in the prayer.

Realize that he always answers prayers.
1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
So in his will, he hears and grants the request.
James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.
Asked wrongly, you don't get it.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
It will happen at the appropriate time.
So in response to God answering prayers.
He either says Yes, No, or Not Right Now.
You have to learn to listen appropriately.

God always answers prayers.
However...
It is rarely in the way you expect.
He answers them in the way he thinks best.
He is not a gofer that answers to a whistle. Tugs his forelock and does what you demand.

When you pray, you should ask what God wants of you, not what you want of God.
As to your plans for your future.. God helps those that help themselves.
Make your plans, pray for guidance and have faith.

If you are trusting in Christ for your salvation and I believe you are, this situation you're in is common place for the believer. It's called sanctification, the testing of your faith.

The Lord is trying to draw you closer to Him. Your faith in this situation will draw you closer or push you further from God.

Is it the will of God for His children to have a good paying job? It most certainly is! The question to be answered which God already knows is, do you have the faith to claim it? Do you believe without any doubt whatsoever that through your faith in what Christ did for us on the cross to reconcile us back to God, He will not only provide our needs but will give us even more than we ask? If you believe and hold on to that faith, God will turn the world upside down if necessary to give you that job.

It will not come in your timing, it will come in His perfect timing. No matter how it looks, how useless it seems, hold that faith, and it will come to pass!

He is a wonderful God!

Trust the Lord.
Take on other employment and continue seeking teaching opportunities in other states and or studies either online or at a college.
Some churches have schools, so put out the word that you're looking for teaching
opportunities.

My brother works a manual labor type job and continues putting in applications online in whatever state and he willing to move to obtain a job in his chosen field.
