Like Resolve? but one of the synonyms for resolve and intending is desire/wish so correct me if I'm wrong say I sin and tell the Lord I desire not to do that again that means I intend not to do it again am I wrong? I'm not trying to prove you wrong please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks!

I don't mean to be silly but you can have conflicting desires. My new nature desires to live for God but my old nature desires to sin. So to intend not to sin is simply to say that I have honestly decided to do my very best to avoid it in the future. Also Pray for God to deliver you from that sin and claim the Help of the Holy Spirit by faith. You will have conflicting desires from time to time so don't worry about that.

Okay, let's cut to the chase...when you fall into sin, confess that sin, repent of it (turn away from that sin in true horror at your fallen and helpless state) and turn to God who is your strength and the power you need to stand sinless before God.

Now some practicals...In order to be set free from the bondage of sin, we need to pray and yield in that prayer to the HS Phil. 1:12

We need to yield to God's boldness over sin, that is not fear it because God is our overcomer Phil. 1:28

Ask for deliverance I John 5:15

When it comes to not entering into temptations that lead to sin and death, our first line of defence is to yield ourselves to God. To yield our needs, our fleshly desires, and our pride. Along side this yielding, God tells us to resist the Devil. (James 4:7) We are told to not give the Devil a foothold, in other words, don't play with temptations that lead to sin. (Ephesians 4:27) We are to put on the full armor of God, that is to clothe ourselves with strength, truth, righteousness, alertness, peace, faith, salvation, the Holy Spirit, the Word, and prayer. (Ephesians 6:11-20) Humility is one of the ways of escape from the temptations we will face, (I Peter 5:6) as is being alert and sober minded, (I Peter 5:8) resisting, and standing firm. (I Peter 5:9) With these ways of escape, we can, like Christ when He was tempted, overcome the evil one

I think it is helpful to think of Christ as your husband. Not in the way that we define husband and wife in this world. But remember the redeemed are the Bride of Christ. When pornography grips one, it replaces the desire for your true love, Christ. He desires to be the One you want. Don't settle for fleeting desires when Jesus wants to offer you an eternity of relationship.

Friend, you are worrying WAAAAY too much about this stuff. I have OCD, too, so I know how you feel. Sometimes I catch myself worrying like crazy over something that's really stupid and not worth freaking out over.

Listen, the best thing you can do is stop worrying about whether or not you are "truly saved" or if your salvation can be "undone". Becoming a Christian and accepting Christ as your Savior doesn't mean that you'll automatically stop sinning. The point is that you begin your path to recovery. Do whatever you can to initiate that and you're good.

We all slip up and relapse sometimes, but don't give up. God forgives you every time :)

Stop viewing sin in legalistic terms. We are not under law but under grace. This is not to say sin is ok. Sin separates us from the life of God and severely hurts our communion with him. Yet it is better to understand sin as a spiritual illness causing spiritual estrangement from the divine, rather than as a violation of some law.

Sin is our illness, the grace of God is our medicine. Focus your mind on the things of God, pray, and be grateful for all that God is and does. Confess your sinfulness and ask God for his grace to help you become more and more like Jesus and less and less like your carnal self.

Know this, if pornography is your main struggle you are doing better than many of us. While you struggle with that, I am struggling with outright fornication, to which I am for lack of a better word, severely addicted. Yet by the grace of God there is hope for all of us, and all we can do is seek God with all our heart and strive to live in the way of Jesus.

Stop viewing God as a Monarch or an autocrat, handing down laws and punishments. God is our heavenly father who earnestly desires us to come into perfect union with himself. Christ became a man and lived sinless, defeating sin. He died on the cross and rose again, defeating death. He taught us how we should live, demonstrating the way which leads to the life of God within.

Focus your mind on the life, death, and resurrection of Christ in the fullness of what it means. Seek to follow the way of love, mercy, and humility that the Lord demonstrated. Rather than spending all your time and energy on self-regulation and avoiding particular sins, focus more on doing good!

True Christianity is humility and closeness with God, attending to the poor, helping the lowly and downtrodden, comforting the oppressed, praying for the oppressors, loving others as yourself, and speaking and acting with gentleness and compassion. The more we live like this the more and more we will come into close union with God.
