• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It'll be a few days before I can get it. It needs a prior auth.
I did some research and it seems the drug was FDA approved in 2014...fairly recently.

Has the usual warnings about drowsiness the next day, ect. if the dosage is too high, but appears to have tested well. I read a bunch of reviews.

Apparently it’s expensive but worth to price to people it has helped.

That's what my doctor said, and hopefully medicaid covers it

feeling apprehensive today, between down and flattish lets hope it be the latter rather than the first. i've been tottering lately still not back to level ground after my flu. However sleep has been restored for the time being at least so that is great. i love sleeping 8 hours in first sleep, like i did last night, that was a first in a very long time. Thanking Jesus for a good night sleep.

That's great @Jeshu!

I'm feeling okay emotionally but I think I'm manic as I've only been sleeping about 6 hours a night and am full of energy. My doctor says I have bipolar tendencies even though my diagnosis is Major Depressive Disorder. I see her next week.

oh that is no good. i got bi-polar as one of my diagnoses and often suffer from insomnia sometimes i get no sleep at all because my mind is so clear and on the go. You get that? Such mental clarity when going towards the manic cycle? Or is it more irritability and annoyance? For that can be the case as well. i love the active part of my manic cycle, but my meds keep me pretty balanced lately, and i'm not often in it even though i still often suffer from insomnia that is the down side of trauma memories.

Blessings

So sick of this whole anti millenial stuff. Give up your phones, your laptops, internet, cars. Every technological and medical advancement in the last 26 years since apparently your time was better! I'm sick of their whining and moaning.

Oh but Helen, you can't bc you gotta brag about how little Timmy won an award today!! Awards your generation decided he should win! That's right Helen, that's your generation.

You're right I'm angry.

i awoke at 3.15 am this morning and felt too sick to get back to sleep. Mood wise i feel reasonable though, just the nausea playing up again.

i think i have to do some more dirt digging seeing the nausea is so strong again. i have been having a lot of anxious times the last 3 months that i haven't been able to work through yet. fear can cover up a lot of anger and a lot of hurt i know from experience, i haven't raged since my last psychosis so i'm really happy about that and like to keep it that way.

Have a blessed Sunday.

i'm feeling well this afternoon and thankful to Jesus for getting me through this dark time. So good to be able to praise Him feeling thankful and content again. It has been awhile since i felt that joyful towards Him.

The belsomra does not work. Took it an hour ago, I am wide awake and close to tears. I wish he'd put me back on the ambien 10 mgs. It's justifiable at this point, and I am gonna need sleep so I stay sane during the holiday season.

Your fears and disappointment are understandable, Firefly. Please stay strong and take one thing at a time; try not to feel overwhelmed.

Contact your medical people as soon as you can and inform them of the situation. They need to know.

That's awful firefly without sleep you will certainly not see much improvements. Hoping you will be able to get some sleep soon. Have you tried 5-htp they seem to work really well for me and also help for depression and weight loss. i take 300 mg a day and usually sleep 7 hours plus on it. Might be worth considering at this moment in time.

Peace

i've been as flat as a pancake and rather tired and downish the last few days. One good day the other day followed by more not such good days. At the moment i've got a back ache and i'm completely energy less, like i was yesterday. blah! blah! blah! Strangely sleep has been very good, i seem to make 6-7 hours in my first sleep every night now so that is great.]

how is everyone else going?
