  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.

What are you doing to survive the Trump presidency?

    Sorry if I confuse you, but I use left and progressives to differentiate between them and liberals, since I visit another board and that is the nomenclature there. I'm also glad that you are on the cusp of being conscious of how much the Nazi Russia crap is similar to the Marxist Muslim crap. The biggest difference between the two is the fact that the majority of the media has promoted the insanity this time around.

    The Almighty set up kings, presidents, dictators, etc.

    Daniel 2:20-21 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And He changes the times and the seasons: He removes kings, and sets up kings: He gives wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

    Daniel 4:17 . . . to the intent that the living may know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever He will, and sets up over it the basest of men.

    They will all reap what they sow as do we all. If leaders seek to rule in righteousness, the Almighty will bless them and their nation.

    Then you severely misinterpret my point. There is much more to the Nazi-Russia stuff than there ever was to the Marxist Muslim stuff.

    Trump's transition team has a LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO, in violation of federal law, failed to disclose Russian contacts. Trump's own son, on behalf of the campaign, actively met with a Russian source who promised compromising information from the Russian government to help the Trump campaign and then lies were established to cover that meeting up. Trump has consistently praised Putin prior to becoming President. And upon assuming the role he has consistently antagonized our allies in Europe while barely being able to say a negative thing about Putin. Trump has had meetings of a long duration at the G20 summit without aid of a US interpretter (in contravention of normal behavior in such settings).

    I'm not saying Trump colluded with Russia, I just think Trump has far more ties to Russia than should make any of us comfortable and should be investigated. Even Obama showed his birth certificate when Trump demanded it. Trump needs to lay his investment and economic cards on the table.

    Trump loaded up his cabinet with people who were largely assumed to be racists or white supremacist-friendly voices long before they got into the Trump white house (Bannon, Miller, Gorka). Trump played coy during the election about what he knew or didn't know about David Duke. He claimed he didn't know anything about David Duke...c'mon! Unless Trump is a complete idiot, he knew who Duke was just like about every other American. From YEARS of seeing Duke's shennanigans. C'mon. Let's not fool ourselves. And Trump KNEW FULL WELL the Alt-Right was supporting him and he knew not to antagonize that support.

    That's because there was no "there there" for the Obama Birther movement. There was no "there there" for the secret muslim stuff. There was no "there there" for the gun confiscation stuff. How do we know? BECAUSE NONE OF IT EVER HAPPENED.

    If what you say it true then only Trump voters will suffer. After all the rest aren't responsible.

    I take it you voted for Hillary. :swoon:

    I'm young and healthy. I'm not in the least bit worried about my survival. As a registered Republican, I am worried about how the party will survive him. Old folks get their jollies form him now. Young ones have to think about the long-term consequences of his delusional and unethical crap.

    One person, is not going to take a party down, as bad as things seem right now. Memories are very short in politics. I don't think either party, is in great shape now, or has been for several years.

    Do you really think the Trump presidency is only about Trump, though? The apologists for him in the party have done as much harm.

    I don't think memories are that short in politics.

    Yes, I voted for the woman who had the best chance of winning the Democrat side (I would have voted for Bernie by the political machine had obviated that choice). I voted for the progressive candidate who had several decades of experience in working within the US Government and a track record of public service.

    In other words I didn't think a pathologically lying, semi-intelligent reality tv show star who had taken a multimillion dollar inheritance from his dad and underperformed the stock market (ie wasn't a very good businessman) and whose primary product was, of late, licensing his name to go on other products would be a very good president.

    I get it.

    So you won't be suffering any of the fallout from Trump's bungled presidency?

    Yes, I do think memories are very short in politics when it comes to the public who vote. Attention spans are short.

    That hasn't been the case in my experience. Clinton was in his last year of office when I was born, and I grew up hearing about him, about Bush the 1st which was before my time, so on. Folks are still griping about W & Obama too.

    Not a problem, I know how to agree to disagree about stuff, if it bothers you I'll edit it in this thread. That would be no trouble, :wave:

    Sure I will. Thanks to the low-information voting bloc who got Trump into office I'll pay.

    There's not a lot we can do right now to fix the problem. You folks who voted him into office have left us with little choice. Even if he resigns because his widdle feewings get hurt by the nasty media or he gets impeached because of his undisclosed ties to foreign leaders or whatever, it leaves Pence in place. Pence is hardly the sharpest tool in the shed but he's got more capability to function in a governmental setting which means he'll get more regressive paleo-conservative Republi-taliban type legislation through and he'll provide cover for Ryan and McConnell to systematically decimate the economic livelihoods of millions of Americans. So, bravo.

    The point is: I wish the low information Trump voters would have used common sense rather than voting for Trump because they couldn't think their way out of a paper bag armed with scissors and a youtube video on how paperbags work.

    Trump was a used car salesman from the START. EVERYONE knew he was under investigation for fraud in the Trump University scam, EVERYONE knew he was mentally incompetent when it came to just about ANY topic discussed during the campaign, EVERYONE knew he was interested in TWO THINGS: TRUMP AND MONEY.

    There are about a billion examples I can provide to show that Trump was uniquely unsuited for the job. And SURPRISE! He is turning out to be uniquely unsuited for the job!

    It honestly didn't take an advanced degree to see the trainwreck Trump was going to be. But again, thanks for helping us get him in charge. Really, thanks.

    Back to the OP's original question, I survive by leaving the television off and reading the news a lot less than I did before. I find it is better for my blood pressure. I don't need to know what outlandish thing POTUS has tweeted from the bathroom at 3:00 AM. I don't need to hear his exaggerations, hyperbole, and outright lies. I don't need to hear what insensitive remark he has made or hear his saber rattling with other leaders. I don't need to see him wrapping himself in the cloak of my faith to get votes. The country will survive or not. I will survive or not. But in the meantime, I am living life and pledging allegiance to the Kingdom of God, while ignoring this POTUS who I find disturbing.

    1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

    3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
