Of course, some states will count for another week or two (e.g. CA and Alaska). This is nothing new. PA will take forever, included ballots that will be subject to the result of court cases. This is nothing new. After all, the first states don't certify for at least 2 days of the election.
==============
That being said, a lot will likely be known. There will be lots of results everywhere, but especially in FL and TX. FL has had over 50% of the registered voters already vote. These are already being counted. Add the actual voting on election Day, and the vast majority will have been counted by midnight.
=========
We won't have a "final" vote because of the suppression in WI, MI, PA and NC, but we will know a lot.

Yeah it is really dumb that the GOP can only win by cheating ;)
Amazing detachment from reality there. ;)

Just recently, the other party has given us vote harvesting, no-signature absentee ballots, mailing absentee ballot applications to the dead, counting ballots for a week and a half after the polls close on election day, ''no ID needed'' voting, "top two" primaries, no poll watchers wanted, and more recently a proposal for 16 year old voters and another for electing in the primary without a general election needed. The Republicans opposed all of these innovations as ripe for cheating.

Kris Kobach headed a commission which ended without finding any truth to this fake news.

Agreed. Of the key battleground states, only WI and PA wait until election day to start counting the early ballots. The rest will likely have early votes counts ready to release as soon as the polls close. And people are voting early in record numbers.

since you brought it up do you know if they start before or after the polls close.

PA ballot counting? My understanding is they can start counting ballots a minute after midnight on Nov 3rd (legally).

So as of today, 4 days prior to election:

2020 early votes so far as a share of total 2016 votes:
Texas - 100% [9 m]
Georgia - 87% [3.6 m]
North Carolina - 86% [4.1m]
Arizona - 87% [2.3 m]
Florida - 81% [7.8 m]

....and every one of these states are counting ballots now. We'll have a very good idea how the election is going when the polls close and early ballot counts are released.

Nobody of any persuasion should have a problem with either of those two things.

Either way, Pelosi pushed to get auditing and other voting security measures put in place all the way back in March and you guys pooh-poohed her for it.
