For those of us who bought chocolate advent calendars, we should now have eaten 12 chocolates! And assuming we have not already taken the chocolates out of the remaining windows, we should have 12 left to enjoy until Christmas Eve! No cheating! ;-)
Christmas is a special time of the year. However you celebrate it, and with whom, make it a special one and enjoy it to the full! Whether you are dreaming of a white Christmas or imagining Father Christmas coming down your chimney putting presents under the tree, whether you will be attending Midnight Mass and singing carols, or tucking into a beautifully prepared turkey dinner followed by glasses of your favourite tipple, remember the reason for the season. The birth of Jesus Christ, God Incarnate, is the best gift any soul could ever hope for. It is God's gift to you and it is given to you with love. In the same way our Lord came to us as the child in the manger, we can come to Him with simple childlike faith, joy and anticipation.
