I am having a hard time with my weight still. I am naturally very thin but my kidnapper had me overeat for many months. I gained about 20 pounds with her. I still have the pounds on me and I feel less myself. It is painful because the woman often teased me saying I was fat and that she was going to make me obese and sick. The woman's words are still in my mind when I eat. I am going to try and continue to eat healthy and take walks. It is hard because Ive had family and friends comment that Ive gained weight, one family member even saying I looked pregnant. That horrified me. None of them know about the ritual abuse. I will never tell any of them because they will not understand. I only tell people here about my ritual abuse. The comments from friends and family hurt me because they don't know how I got this way. Please pray for me that Jesus will help me loose the weight and comfort me and that I will feel myself again.

I prayed for you, and I know that you know that God loves you and I'm so sorry for what you went through. God will always be with you and if you have time could you please pray for me that I will stay close to God and that I will truly be His. God bless and Jesus is Lord. Please also pray that my love for God will grow, I'm struggling in knowing how much God loves me which I know is messed up because He sent His one Son to die for me.

Praying for you. Sorry that you are dealing hurtful comments.
My weight has fluctuated some also, due to health issues (colitis).
I was down to about 156, now I'm up to 196.

Thank you for your words. The hurtful comments were the hardest to hear. Made me feel alone but having Christian Forums helps me. I am sorry you have also experienced fluctuating weight. I know how hard that can be. I am praying for you.

It's sounds like there may be a vicious circle here. You said the comments from your family hurt you because they don't know how you gained the weight, but you also say that you won't tell them because they wouldn't understand. It might be helpful to both you and your family if you tell them about what happened. They are no doubt more able to give you the support you need than anyone here on this forum. But they can't give you that support if they don't even know what happened. All they know is that you gained weight. They have no idea that they're comments may be hurtful if they don't know what your weight gain that they're commenting about is the result of.

Thank you for these words. I can't tell my parents because I just don't want them to know. But you brought up a good point about all they know is that I gained weight and not know how it happened. My parents are very fragile about things like this and wont take it well. I will try my best to continue to pray to Jesus for help.

Jesus often gives His help through other people, but it's more difficult for those other people to help if you keep them from knowing what's going on in your life.

That is very true Aldebaran. I was able to tell my counselor what happened. That has helped me too.

It's good that you were able to tell someone in person. But the reason I mentioned your parents is because they are closer to you and are saying things that are hurting you only due to them saying things without knowing that they're hurting you because they don't know what happened. If they knew, they would know what to say (and do) to actually help you. Then you may not feel so alone in your struggle.

I just don't understand this stupid world and why those people would do such a thing to you.
I am so sorry that it happened to you, I hope they die.

Thank you for caring about what happened to me. My kidnapper did not care about me at all and was truly a terrifying person. I am trying to stay close to God to heal.

Hey there bluerose31 you're beautiful no matter what weight you are! I encourage you to look at yourself in the mirror and thank God for how God has given you your body in the here and now. Don't listen to those hurtful comments. Since God has made you, your physical self is part of God's art. I encourage you to be healthy whatever that might be for you. Hope you have a blessed day!
