Very interesting. For years Biblical scholars had purposely disregarded Josephus' account of the direction of the Exodus out of Egypt. What could have been their motivation? This is not the only deception they worked out on the Christian layperson.

What the result of their deception on the Exidus route has been is the enormous amount of time and money spent by Christians traveling from all over the world to go visit the wrong sites.

One such a site that is claimed to be authentic (but makes Jesus out to be a liar in Mk.13:1-2) is the supposed 'Wailing Wall' .

From my memory, all such sites have always been considered questionable in authenticity.

It's worse than you think:

For at least 50 years, most of academia thought that Ramses was the Exodus pharoah. I call it "the Charleton Heston" school of thought.

The Exodus happened 300 years before Ramses II was born!

Archeology is the next shovel full of sand overturned. Ancient text suddenly reveals a statement that was considered previously. Science evolves because of new discoveries.

What makes anyone think, the thought process 20 years ago, 200 years ago are absolute and not subject to change?

Yes, The biblical use of “Rameses” is anachronistic.

As far back as Genesis 47:11—several centuries before
the Exodus and long before the Israelite slavery began,
let alone the building of Rameses itself—we find the
geographical term “Rameses” used.

I've heard about this place for many years now and believe there is evidence for it. Given the account in scriptures point to this location. I'll post a documentary mentioning this location today. Its why Ron Wyatt (believe him or not ) or people who told him of this place, believed the red sea crossing was there, instead of where its placed at today closer to Egypt.
