Understanding that many did not have Netflix I have found an equivalent on You Tube

Type in "Is the evolution theory true or false.? (1) and watch the whole series

Atheists should especially pay attention to the separation of fact and fiction

Are we talking about Kent Hovind, because he is not exactly my favorite source.

I thought you were pretending to tentatively accept the theory of evolution these days?

No. Not Kent Hovind. It's even worse (if you can believe it).

It's Harun Yahya (a.ka. Adnan Oktar), a Muslim creationist, cult leader and all round crazy guy.

This guy's level of credibility when discussing evolution is below floor level. He's like to opposite of an expert.

The first video deals with bipedalism - and has GAPING holes in its arguments. Basically, it ignores the evidence for the evolutionary development of upright bipedalism of every hominid human ancestor. In fact, it never even acknowledges the existence of human ancestor species.

It also replaces evidence with pure argument by assertion, many (most?) of which are patently false.

If that's the best they can do, creationism is in a worse state than I'd thought.

I like Harun Yahya, I don't dwell on his stuff but he is alright. I wonder could you just cut and paste a link.

Nah, I'm not linking to that trash, it will only encourage people.

How, in all seriousness, can you like Harun Yahya? What redeeming features does he, or his work, possess?

His stuff is actually very interesting, if I don't like him, like I don't like Hovinid, I would have a reason and certainly if I was warning people about him I would have a link

    Interesting?

Most, if not the vast majority, of his material on evolutionary biology is laughably false. His work is ridiculous and thus deserving of ridicule.

What he creates is the opposite of interesting. It is both wrong - sometimes painfully, sometimes hysterically - and dull, as it introduces no original concepts, evidence or arguments.

    It's drivel.

Why would I pay attention to a youtube video that claims to know better then the scientific community?

    Ow dear.......................
My head still hurts from all the facepalms that were triggered when I watched a clip of that dude several years ago.

I loved when he discovered the common ancestor of flies and fishing lures.

Of course it isn't...though I have read 1000s of studies and experiments...worked in labs for decades...read many "books on Evolution" (in fact, for fun I have been reading a Bio-Chemistry text from when I went back to college in 2006 for an update)

But nonetheless I would say at least half or more of the facts presented are real and beg an answer. SO though I doubt you listened to much (a closed mind is typical of many atheists so hopefully not you) I would love you to address specific content, reasoning, or facts brought out in the series.

Can you do that or will you default to one of the two typical responses of "I wouldn't waste my time" or the pseudo ad hominem attack?

I am sure you would not...most atheists do not allow for alternate views to question their programming (just like YEC creationists) however, I would say at least half or more of the facts presented are real and beg an answer and to repeat what I just said, "SO though I doubt you listened to much (a closed mind is typical of many atheists so hopefully not you), I would love you to address specific content, reasoning, or facts brought out in the series.

Hang on, you're the one saying this stuff is credible. Why don't you pick something you find convincing and let others address that?

Gosh, with you having "read 1000s of studies and experiments...worked in labs for decades...read many "books on Evolution" " I wouldn't have though you'd need help pointing out the basic, elementary errors in H.Y.'s videos.

Well, I'll do the first one, for gits and shiggles.

    0 min 6 sec:
    6 seconds in and we have the first basic mistake. Bipedalism is not a 'dilemma' for evolution and there is ample record of how it developed through our ancestors over the past 5 million years. Strike one;

    0 min 20 sec:
    Nope, humans don't have a "perfect and flawless skeletal system". The jaw and our spines are the sort of 'good enough' kludges that evolution explains. Same with our hands. Strike two;

    0 min 40 sec:
Nope, "evolutionists" don't claim that bipedalism evolved from a four legged 'ape gait' to two legged up right walking. The evidence is that humans ancestors developed bipedalism without the knuckle walking we associate with apes (chimpanzees and gorillas). Strike three.

    0 min 55 sec
Nope, the claims about bipedal evolution are well evidenced and far from "impossible".

    1 min 10 sec

Humans and apes actually share a lot of locomotive similarities, particularly humans and chimpanzees.

    1 min 15 sec:

"Human bipedalism" is not shared with any extant life form, as there are no other humans. However human ancestors known to be bipedal include (but are not limited to) Sahelanthropus; Orrorin; Ardipithecus; Australopithecus; Homo habilis; Homo erectus; Neanderthal; Denisovans.

Then there's bipedalism in other mammals, birds, lizards and other species.

Look, I could do the rest of the video, but I REALLY have better thinks to do than beat up on creationist propaganda. From a sample of 6 claims in 75 seconds, all of them were wrong.

    LOL, if in doubt.... interpretations!

Have you got any examples of his alternative interpretations of the data?
