The problem for Trump, is that he thinks he's so smooth, he can talk anyone out of anything. This is why he foolishly did all those interviews for Woodward, thinking that he could persuade him to write a favorable book. It's why he just tosses out stupid ideas like injecting disinfectant into your body, as a supposed cure for COVID-19.

He thinks that will convince Americans he's actually doing something. It's all about making him look good. It's why he ordered intelligence officials to change their reports to fit his desires, and punished those who declined to do so. It's why he wanted the FBI to "downplay" the ongoing threat from right-wing terrorism in the United States. There's something seriously wrong with him.

And it's killing thousands of Americans.

Once the Governors of New York and New Jersey began to understand the scope of the problem, no thanks to the federal government, they locked down those parts of their states seriously affected and sealed off the nursing homes from outside visitors!

Given that testing was severely limited if available at all, the Governors were making decisions affecting the health of their citizens unaware that a significant % of those infected were asymptomatic - they could spread COVID-19 without exhibiting any of the symptoms!

Apparently "jogneb" is intent on holding Democratic state governors to a far higher standard than this President, who had ready access to far more information!

In the middle of a Pandemic no Democratic politician has been so reckless as to organize political rallies, in direct violation of state and local laws concerning crowd size, whereby 1000's of Americans spend hours in an enclosed facility without wearing masks or social distancing!

Yeah I know....many will claim people are reading something into his statements which just aren't there and I'd hope there isn't but I have a hard time accepting there isn't. Certain words especially when read from a teleprompter means much thought as gone in to every statement and potential ways a line of words could be taken. Always not enough where one can make an absolute statement a certain thing was intended but enough to put out a subtle statement meant to chill.

If there was something nefarious intended and I can't say as an absolute there was I'd say one should NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER give in to things like this! You hold the line and you hold on to your right to see whatever President you want to come forth. You give into fear and stand down they'll come after you again and again for some other thing until everyone all your liberties are removed. Of course we know Joe couldn't have meant anything bad. If that's true, shame on them, then. The governors of Florida and Texas messed up big time, and thousands died for those failures. The governor of New York should have known how badly nursing homes would be hit, and the elderly died in greater numbers than they should have. But meantime, we have a president who deal with a crisis by lying to us about it, and whose incompetence has killed tens of thousands of Americans; because of his bungling, this pandemic has cost us more lives than the Vietnam war, and did huge economic damage to America.

Trump just surrendered; he now acts like the pandemic is over, even it appears to be rising yet again. Both daily deaths and daily new cases are now ticking upward again over the last few days. Hopefully, it's just a statistical glitch. But it appears not to be.

In "Fear", Bob Woodward wrote that we should all pray that we would never have a crisis. But we did have one. And Woodward's warning came true. There's no one at the helm. Just a pack of vandals, stripping the ship of things to steal.
