Hi, everyone I have a question. I’m worried that I did a mortal sin becuause I kinda doubted my faith, I was doubting about the sacrament of confession and I was doubting if it was legit and was real. So a few seconds afterwards I decided to pray and ask God for his forgiveness just Incase. Do you think I mortally sinned?

I am not Catholic, but my knowledge of Catholicism says "no", you did not commit a mortal sin. However, if you do commit a mortal sin, then the Church teaches that until you can make it to Confession at the earliest possible opportunity, that you can still perform an Act of Perfect Contrition and that would protect your soul.

A mortal sin has to have three things

1, is a serious issue
2, the person knows it is a serious sin
3, the person freely commits that sin

Having a momentary doubt is not a grave sin, it is part of our weakness, God knows that our emotions are weak and easily manipulated
We need to try to be strong and not give room for doubt, but a momentary doubt is not a mortal sin
