Hey everyone!
My name is Sarah and I have been married for three and half years to an amazing man. We have wanted to have a baby for the last two years and now we have been trying for about four months. Im hoping that it happens soon. I would love to hear from some of you on how you have handled this hard yet exciting time. It seems like all my friends are all pregnant and Im excited for them yet its still hard. I should start my period tomorrow yet for some reason there are some strange things going on....

I had really tender Boobs for about four days Day 21-25(now they are not as sore, yet that was the most pain i have felt with them)

I felt like I was going to pass out on day 22

And for the last few days I have felt a little cramping here and there

It kind of feels like I am going to start my period, yet I feel really strange.

I know its too soon to tell but what do you think?
Please keep me in your prayers I really want to be pregnant

Sarah

Hi Sarahbeth,

Welcome to the strange old world of TTC!
I find the rollercoaster of emotions quite hard to deal with, but for me the only way to cope with the disappointment each month is to give it up to God. (easier said than done some months!).

I completely know what you mean about it feeling like all your friends are pregnant right now! It seems like every week at church there is someone else announcing their forthcoming baby! lol! One day it will be us ... let's hold on to hope.

I'm on CD 21 and awaiting AF with trepidation. We've been trying for 6 or 7 months and I really really want this month to be it.

It's so hard to read early pregnancy signs. I find that what I think might be pg signs are actually just a bad case of pms. However, since you are so close to AF, you could try taking one of those early pg tests (you know the ones that may work 4 days early). Or you could just wait and test the day after AF was supposed to arrive. It could be, you never know.

Do you take your temperature or read any other fertility signs, like CM or use OPKs?

Check out www.fertilityfriend.com. I've just joined up, it looks really really good. Loads of the other girls use it on here. If you chart your temp then it can be easier to see if the early signs might mean pg or pms.

All the best x

Sarabeth- Welcome to the group. I was wondering when I was reading you said you were on about cd 25 right? How long are your cyles usually do you have any idea when you O'd i ask because I have very long cycles 35-36 days, so I don't O until CD 22. Just trying to figure out how many DPO you are that can help to figure out if these are prego signs or something else.

Hey thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. I dont know all the abbreviations but here is some more info. I have been charting my basil temp for about five months. Kind of confusing. I would say that this last month after ovulation it has been elevated but I am not sure how high it needs to be to say If I am pregnant or not. It has been 29 days since I had my last period and I am about every 28-29 days. What is really strange is that I felt like I was going to start my period on about day 25 thats when it felt like I was going to start. Well then after that I have felt kind of like I was going to start but it kind of feels like the feelings are going away. I am totally confused. So like I was saying I am usually 28-29 days so day 29 is almost over and I just cant find it in me to go get a test. I think I would rather just wait. (some of you may think that I am crazy but I just dont like disappointment.) Anyways I will keep you posted

Hi Sarahbeth, I have felt like you about testing for the last 2 of my cycles and I just waited (I have two unused test in my cupboard). However, this month I just can't wait, I just need to know, although it is too early for me to test. Mentally, I think I go through stages - sometimes I want to test to be prepared for AF, and other times AF is better than getting a negative test.

It does sound like you are late - wait a couple of days and then definitely test if no AF. Oooh, exciting - hope it's a BFP!

I took your advice and tested last night..... I am pregnant!!!!!!!! I am in such shock. I dont want to get to excited yet.. So tomorrow I am going to make an appointment with my dr. I think I will believe it more when I get the blood test back. I dont have as many symptoms as I thought I would. I hope that is normal. Well thanks to all of you who kept me in your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate it.

Congratulations!

I remember that feeling of shock from my first pregnancy. In fact, I took one test (BFP), showed my husband. A little while later, because I still couldn't believe it, I took another one (BFP), then I also got it confirmed at the doctor's office! (Another BFP, obviously.)

Took three tests before I really believed it, but it still didn't become real until that first ultrasound at 6 wks that we had because we were unsure of our dates.

Anyway, I'm so excited for you! YAY!

Congratulations!

Don't worry about the symptoms, you are about 4 weeks pregnant and the average time that symptoms begin (other than a missed period) is about six weeks.

With my first, I started to feel a bit queesy at five weeks and didn't get really sick until six weeks. You won't need to go to the loo all the time yet, because that happens when your uterus gets larger, and it won't be any larger than usual yet. Basically, your hormones are not high enough (yet) to be feeling the usual symptoms of nausea, fatigue, cravings and aversions. You might not start to feel pregnant for some time.

So don't worry. Enjoy this special time when you are so close to your child. Congrats again!

Assisi gives good advice in her post. With my first, I was queasy at five weeks pregnant, then at six weeks it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was practically bedridden until 16 weeks, such was my morning sickness. That doesn't mean you'll get morning sickness badly though. One of my friends had next-to-no symptoms with her second child, and it came as a shock to her that she was pregnant at all. She was still exclusively breastfeeding (day and night) her first baby (which also shows that breastfeeding is NOT a good contraceptive )
