A video of a leading prelate has emerged, showing the Cardinal participating in a ceremony honoring two pagan gods.

Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi of the Pontifical Council for Culture was filmed walking around a blanket as part of a noisy procession honoring Pachamama, a fertility goddess, and Tata Inti, Father Sun, in the so-called "hippy town" of San Marcos Sierras in the Córdoba province of Argentina. During the ceremony, a shaman describes what is on the blanket.

Leftists, and others who hate the Catholic Church are trying to turn this into "Is the Church going pagan?" kind of thing. News from the Vatican confirms the truth. Pope Francis has no desire to go pagan and participation in pagan, meaning indigenous ceremonies, is like any participation in say, Native American ceremonies. Last I checked, the Church wants people to be Catholic not pagan - as always.

You should read the article. It clarified what exactly was going on.

The problem with Catholicism in the Amazon appears to be that they are still waiting for authentic Catholic missionaries. I was discussing this last night at church and we wondered what could be done with 100 actual authentic Catholics who were intent on doing like the Jesuits did 400 years ago.

By the way, our associate pastor is going to buy a Saturno. I expect he may get one or two as gifts as well.

Leftists have hijacked this situation. Now that the Amazon Synod is over, Pope Francis will release his own document.

This website is not left leaning. No one here wants to see the Pope or any of the bishops in the situation they have put themselves in. It's heartbreaking and revolting. But true nontheless. We need to pray for their salvation and also that God purified His house in some manner.

The event recorded in the video happened is part of a Courtyard of the Gentiles- the Department of the Pontifical Council of Culture responsible for the diologue with nonbelievers-event, which focused on folkloric and cultural traditions of the indigenous peoples of Argentina and Paraguay, the Pontifical Council of Culture office explained by email.

He was present at the pagan ceremony! He apologized to them after the idols were thrown into the Tiber! Unless his document starts with, 'I Repent'....Why should we care?

Dear, the people he apologized to were the idol worshippers. Even if he were apologizing to others,he should not have had them recovered from the Tiber. They're idols! Whether or not his intentions were idolatrous, the sanctuary has been profaned.
I have been very careful in my words. This brings me no joy. This has dealt a huge blow to my Faith.

"... a huge blow to your faith" based on what? Honestly. The Pope and the Church are not turning pagan. And didn't Jesus say He would protect His bride? That the 'gates of hell shall not prevail against it"?

He should have been apologizing for the idolatry. Not that the idols were thrown into the Tiber. But he apologized that Pachamama was thrown into the river. He should have thrown her in himself.

I read a book about a reporter who went to a small community in Alabama to study their 'snake handling' religion. He became brainwashed and refused to return to NYC. The Pope and others open themselves up for this kind of situation when they participate in 'rituals'. What they view as a harmless situation can turn on them, like it did on this reporter.

That's exactly it. Even if the Pope sincerely didn't have any idolatrous intentions, they are still idols I.e. images of demons. God help him and us!

The only apology they deserve is "Sorry they weren't burned." That is the proper way of dealing with idols.
