    Father Judge was labeled the first officially documented victim on on 9-11 . He was labeled victim 0001.

    Father Judge was the chaplain for the NYFD. He refused to leave and gave his life praying for everyone perishing at the towers.

    I've always admired Father Mychal Judge. The photo of him being carried out was heartwrenching. Lord have mercy!

    He was a decent father. He stood when he was called.

    He died well. I hope and pray I can have the grace to die well too. In that he is an exemplar.

    If I were in his situation, I don't know if I could do the same.

    I'm sure there are books out concerning Fr. Mychal Judge. If my memory serves correctly, I think there was a push for a cause for sainthood?

    A lot of that is coming from groups trying to Co-opt him for their cause.

    Whatever. He died a Catholic priest doing heroic deeds. When it came down to it he knew who he was in his last hours.

    That photo guts me every time. I mean, most photos from 9/11 do but there's a certain innocence in this one that just eviscerates me. The fact that he died administering Last Rites too, regardless of what kind of a priest he was—in that moment, he died doing our Lord's work.

    Amen Fenwick. I have often heard our true-selves come out in situations like these. I do not think anyone could say he was not sincere in his vocation despite the thorns of the flesh.

    @eastcoast_bsc

    I heard that there are groups doing that. It would be nice if there was something from a trusted source.
