God abhors "pride", especially when it's raging against the powerless and defenseless, in all its heinous "glory". When there is "celebration" and the "stomping" of the poor and the powerless, God WILL "step in", and sometimes through unexpected means. Every helpless one that we have stomped in and "puffed at" we will be held accountable for.

Speaking of the poor and the powerless, this comes to mind. God "hears" ev'ry single groan, and sigh, and cry (even if they are "silent" to our ears).
