This is a beautifully profound and blessing of a verse. It is only in humbling ourselves before the living God that his precious heart is revealed to us and we are ministered to and learn to love Him as we should. it's the "child-like" part of us that is able to bow down and humble ourselves at all. It is THEN that the meaning of what Jesus said about one must be as a little child to enter the kingdom of heaven, and that "such as these" are of the kingdom of heaven.

There is no seeing God's face unless we do, and that is because our stubborn and deadly "wills" and it's insidious twin "pride" KEEPS us from 'bowing our knee" and consequently, our hearts, minds, and souls, as pride reigns supreme, stomping on the "humbleness" that enters us into an intimate relationship with our heavenly Father. Thus we continue to be, in essence, "strangers" and "adversaries" to the living God.

That ol' devil is tricky, isn't he?

Well this was a profound study and meditation...it had me thinking more deeply about "humbleness before God". Thank you, and God bless you.

Amen Brinny. I don't know why it is so hard for us to humble ourselves, we really have no reason to me high-minded. We are all just sinners, some of us saved by grace. Thank you for the link. In Christ alone!

Amen. It is against our nature to "bow down to God". We have an aversion to Him and His "interference" in our lives. It's kinda' like our blind spot and/or Achilles Heel that we, (unless we are a bona fide child of the living God) "inherited from our "father", the devil, for we are surely his if we have not turned to God and His grace through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
