Amen and amen!!! Yes we ARE to "fear God". When we do, ev'ry thing else falls into place. God intends for His children to be WISE.

And as it is written, the very BEGINNING of "wisdom" is to "fear God".

Apparently it is a very WISE thing to lay down our self-will, rejecting it for GOD'S will for us. As we do, we have demonstrated what real "humility" is, and that it is right in sync with "wisdom".

Therefore, only the "wise" "fear God".

Thank you for this thought-provoking study and meditation this afternoon.

God bless you.

I love proverbs, there is so much wisdom there. Like many I listen to a chapter each day. I like your observation that 'only the "wise" "fear God".' I think it is spot on. In Christ alone!

Amen! What comes to mind for me, is that it is ONLY the "humble" who are "wise", AND truly joyful. There's a book titled "The Joy of Fearing God" by Jerry Bridges, with this verse on the front of it:

"The fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain." ~Pr 14:27

Perhaps it is only through the "fear of the Lord" that we can see God's heart, and see and hear Him rejoice over us with singing.

Delightful.

God bless you.
