Us Vs. World
The shock value has been getting much older
When innocence has become daily more slackened
Though we complicate our lives to be bolder
The outlook for life has all but blackened
Why are we moving outward from religion
When the questions inward are always directed
When we leave our truth, compromise decision
And become as puppets, unmoral as expected
We think less and less about choices made
We let the media decide how we should act
As it takes liberty on how faith is displayed
And denies much of the truth and its impact
The world can quote scripture and so can Satan
Abusing the words and misusing its reference
But do we care as our days pass and laten?
When we do not read for ourselves as preference
Do we care to do the research or to defend it?
Or interpret verses in context or its background?
Or is our motivation lacking and time to spend it
When even ourselves become ignorant of the profound
Faith and trust in God and his Word may fold in
But, with it, even the weakest of men may embolden
As the values of this world will one day leave men
Cling not to the world as we will not stay its denizen
