US government is funding website spreading Covid-19 disinformation

The US government is funding a website in Armenia which is spreading disinformation about the coronavirus pandemic, including warnings that Armenians ought to “refuse” future vaccine programmes.

Actually I think this is more of an example of a "failure to fully vet something properly" rather than a "what's their motive?" kind of thing. Probably they were recommended as "a group who dislike the same people as the administration dislikes" and that's about all they needed to hear.
