Let's say, for instance, somebody has been given a "High level community order", of which the prescribed duration is between 18 to 36 months (by definition). This means they would be required to do so many hours of unpaid work on a weekly basis.

This usually entails some form of manual work, such as "picking up rubbish, or digging graves etc"; but it would be work that you dislike, since it is meant to serve as punishment for the crime.

But WHAT would happen if you refused to COMPLY with the terms of the Community Order?

As slave labour would be a violation of human rights, no developed country could ever make you do work against your will, but the State still has the option to send you to prison, with or without your approval.

So, then WHAT would happen if you refused to COMPLY with the terms of a Community Sentence?

Would a custodial sentence be suitable punishment for refusing to comply (In addition to punishment for the original crime)?
