The UK is having a general election on the 12th.

Praying that the Lord will raise up an army of Bible-believing, praying Christians to seriously intercede on behalf of the UK and its general election. Praying the Lord will give the UK Christians knowledge and conviction concerning who and what to vote for.

Praying the Lord will install as many God-fearing and capable people that will help and strengthen the UK Church/nation, further the Christian worldview, and further the UK down the road to success according to God's will.

Praying that the UK exits the EU.

Thank you for your prayers.

Amen and thank you.
Despite what various pundits try to portray, this election is essentially about Brexit.

We currently have a parliament which is completely out of step with the nation, spending the last 3 years trying to block Brexit.
If people vote for the same parties they did the last time, they will get the same parliament they've got this time!

The EU is a modern manifestation of Babylon, and throughout the bible we see the Lord constantly calling his people to leave Babylon because of her sins. The people of Britain voted to leave the EU, now Lord, please give us a government which will honestly fulfil that request.

But the nations of Britain didn't vote to leave the EU. Scotland didn't. Besides, people have been misled by the media now for a decade. I don't think that many made an informed decision. When it comes to politics I don't think it is fair to ask for prayers on Britain leaving the EU. I will join in prayers for a fair election and for Christ obeying Christians to be voted in.

It has become more than Brexit.
We have the main opposition party, Labour, now taken over by a self confessed Marxist with militant supporters. They are antisemitic and the country is in real danger.
I pray for the UK , Lord have mercy on our country and protect us from all evil.

But the nations of Britain didn't vote to leave the EU. Scotland didn't.
A referendum is based on proportional representation for the whole nation, thus the Leave vote won by a substantial margin.
Besides, people have been misled by the media now for a decade.
In 1973, Ted Heath the Tory Prime Minister, lied to the nation, lied to Parliament, and lied to the cabinet in order to surrender our national sovereignty to the Common Market. An act he should have been hanged for treason over!
When asked on TV in the 90s, he openly boasted that had he not lied, the people would never have permitted the UK to join the Common Market!
Since we joined, every government has lied about our membership.
I don't think that many made an informed decision.
Here's an interesting statistical fact about referendums in general. -
When people are faced with decisions they don't fully understand, or don't have all the facts for, the majority usually go for the status quo, what they perceive as a safe option, the one they already know.

Applying the above to the EU referendum, it shows that in voting for the status quo, the Remainers were the uninformed ones, whereas the Leave voters did so with clarity of understand. Many of the latter having campaigned for decades over the issue.

When it comes to politics I don't think it is fair to ask for prayers on Britain leaving the EU. I will join in prayers for a fair election and for Christ obeying Christians to be voted in.

The UK is made up of four nations. Scotland voted against leaving the EU. The majority want to stay. The majority also don't want the Tories in. The majority do not agree wuth what is going on in Westminster. Our views are not heard and the English media represent our MP's. As an English person by birth, I still want out of the UK. Not due to propagand a but because of how the masses are treated. I have felt like this since 2011 after reading the House of Common's White papers and realising how many important changes were happening and how the media didn't report it.

The newspapers were concentrating on demonising the sick so that the governments policies would be accepted when they came into effect.

This blaming the EU for things is a form of scapegoating. It gives a false outlet of rage to prevent blame being directed where it is due.

America has been playing the same stunt with immigration.

Lord, You tell us in 1Timothy 2:1-2 to pray for those in authority. Help and guide us in those prayers, and these regarding this vote in the UK, so as to pray what You want to answer. May these intercessions be for the good of the UK and beyond, and for Your glory. Amen.

For years the SNP has had a disproportionate influence over Westminster!
In the previous election, UKIP got more votes than SNP, LibDems and Greens put together. The result for UKIP was still no seats, against I think was 68 seats for the above motley crew.
In Westminster, SNP members have repeatedly interfered by voting in English debates, which had absolutely nothing to do with Scotland. So if the Scots are peeved at the way things are currently going, it's maybe a bit of justice at work!

Yes, maybe the people should have voted for independence.

I shouldn't have replied to you on this thread. It is a prayer thread. We aren't to debate on this one.

My fault, I shouldn't have made a controversial post.
At the end of the day, we need God to move on our nation.

Even Northern Ireland did not vote to leave the EU. Leaving the UK has divided people and it more than just a black and white issue.

I too will pray for the election that is fair and for the political parties there.

Praying the Lord will give the UK Christians knowledge and conviction concerning who and what to vote for.
Conservative won the elections with 56% of the seats. Congratulations to their supporters. And condolences for those who oppose Brexit.

I thank God for delivering us from a Labour marxist government.
Amen.
Unfortunately, the Conservative party has moved an awful long way from Conservatism, along the road towards socialism.
I also suspect the Brexit that Boris ends up with will not be Brexit we voted for.

I am just thankful that the Lord delivered us from the evil of the Marxists.
