Personally, I think it's certainly part of it. The deception has been a long time coming. Heliocentrism and evolution have laid the groundwork for the acceptance of aliens. Now the government is talking about crafts they say are not of this world. It's a continuance of that preparation.

Jesus mentioned it was so powerful of a delusion that if it were possible, even the very elect would be deceived. Something like that requires foundational work.
