“His chief promises were that he would build the wall, defund Planned Parenthood and repeal Obamacare, and he hasn’t done any of those things,” Carlson said, adding that those goals were probably lost causes. Trump, he said, doesn’t understand the system, and his own agencies don’t support him.

“He knows very little about the legislative process, hasn’t learned anything, hasn’t surrounded himself with people that can get it done, hasn’t done all the things you need to do, so it’s mostly his fault that he hasn’t achieved those things,” he added.

I've seen some of Tucker's commentaries on occasion, though I don't watch him regularly. I know he's very conservative. And he's obviously a smart and perceptive guy. He sees right through the Trump facade.

Here is the text from the interview. It was interesting and I found that I agreed with Carlson on many of his views.
Die Weltwoche | Weltwoche Online – www.weltwoche.ch: Tucker Carlson::«Trump is not capable» | Die Weltwoche, Ausgabe 49/2018

For starters, he called Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her socialist group “the future.” He also criticized the Republican Party, suggesting that it “will die” if it doesn’t begin to fairly represent middle-class American voters.

“The elite in our country is physically separated in a way that’s very unhealthy for a democracy,” he said. Rural America is “really falling apart,” he said, adding that “if you’re running the country, you should have a sense of that."

I have yet to see either party effectively address the growing economic disparity that has been in play for the better part of 3 decades.

It took two years for him to figure that out? I figured that out in two weeks after being in New Jersey in 2008 and seeing the FAILING Trump casinos and FAILING Trump airline and other FAILING Trump projects. Trump’s RATING is so LOW in New Jersey.

Oh man, Tuck is trashing Trump in a foreign country? I wonder if he'll get the Dixie Chick treatment.

Yeah, some conservatives definitely don't like it when someone insults their president on foreign soil. I remember the pro-American rallies that were held in the DFW area shortly after she criticized George W. Bush at one of the Dixie Chicks concerts overseas. The rallies were organized by Darrell Ankarlo when he still was at KLIF 570 in Dallas. Out of curiosity, I went to a couple of them to see what the rallies would be like. All I saw were countless country folks as far as the eye could see. Many of them were holding American flags and patting each other on the back. There were quite a few of them there with their pick-up trucks and tractors too running over Dixie Chicks CDs and insisting she should be kicked out of the country for treason. I remember thinking what a hive mentality they all had.

Crushing their CD’s with monster trucks should have really hurt the Dixie Chicks in the pocket book. I can’t imagine a more insidious way to financially destroy someone then buying their products and destroying them.

To be fair, it does not sound as if this occurred on foreign soil, merely that he was interviews in the US by a Swiss journalist that was part of his book release.

Agree.
It was largely rural America that elected Trump and for the most part, on this basis that rural America is in a struggle. Meanwhile, the challenges of rural America have largely been ignored by both parties.
In my perspective, Trump led GOP has done nothing except to possibly make things worse in this area.

The Dixie Chicks music was also taken off the Country music stations in the DFW area too, which is sad because Marti and Emily are from Dallas and that's where the Dixie Chicks' career started.

The Dixie Chicks did strike back with this song. I felt so bad for them. Natalie received a number of death threats too. It was so horrible the way they were treated by all those God-fearing conservative Christian Americans. And then those God-fearing conservative Christian Americans turned around and relentlessly bashed and verbally attacked President Barack Obama for the next 8 years.

Nobody knows the pain rural Americans go through quite like a rich New York real estate tycoon. One wonders why they thought he would care?

I think he knows a little bit, after all, before his casinos Failed Big League, like Hugely Failed, we are talking New York Times level of FAILURE, they took in quite a bit of that rural American income.

(I just noticed that the New York Times is still in business but mark Trumps words, it IS failing)
