Old Testament Israel doesn’t exist. Modern Israel has nukes, so it wouldn’t matter what the US does.

The descendants of Abraham still exist and are returning to their Land Israel as foretold by the Prophets.
If the U.S. hadn't helped Israel with it's modern weaponry they would be sitting in Arab ovens right now.

And they have great weaponry now including nukes. They don’t need 120,000 US troops.

True, thanks to strong foreign policy. You do remember the long gas lines under OPEC? That situation would have been 20x worse if we had done nothing since then.

Which is all the more reason we don’t need to saddle up the cavalry now.

Say what? Would you call defending the poor and powerless and needy what is happening in Yemen in the proxy war with Iran being carried out by the Saudis? We logistically supported that conflict, sold them munitions for that conflict, etc.

Thousands dead, millions displaced and starving is not defending the needy.

Humanitarian crisis in Yemen remains the worst in the world, warns UN

There's a reason why trite platitudes like this are not taught at the Army War College or in any ROTC classroom in America.

Biblical principles are not taught at the Naval War College nor are they part of the curriculum in any ROTC classroom.

I posted this link earlier. I suggest you read it.

Israel's Future and Iran's Nuclear Program | Middle East Policy Council

Iran isn't going to nuke Iran and ensure your own obliteration and neither the mullahs nor the military kleptocrats will allow that to happen. And again, eschatological fantasies (ala Left Behind, etc.) don't belong in Realpolitik foreign policy or war planning.

No, because other nations, specifically those in Latin America have developed oil production that we no use as our source of imported oil.

Yeah, that's how we would justify a war. Just like the last time.

But you have to wonder why we should have nukes if we are tromping around the globe waging "preventative war" all the time.

You’re getting a wing of your own?

A belligerent America might be seen as “the problem” to a larger ratio of our adversaries than, “naw, they’re okay” amongst our allies?

The biggest irony of all this is that the Iranian moderates had been making real progress in changing Iran until the US decided to humiliate them by pulling out of the deal that they'd spent considerable political capital getting the hardliners to sign up to.

Now the moderates look naive, the hardliners are stronger than ever and the US has also embarrased their allies in Europe and annoyed Russia and China unnecessarily for good measure.

Oh and of course now no country will trust in the US to honour its international agreements. It was a quite remarkable act of self-harm by the US, and now we're back to the old drumbeats of war as an added bonus, because apparently the quagmire of Iraq wasn't enough for some people.
