  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump's Easter message.

I like his official one a whole lot better:

This Easter Sunday, the First Lady and I join with Christians all across our Nation and around the world in rejoicing in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, whose triumph over sin and victory over death secured the promise of redemption and the hope of eternal life for all who believe in Him as Lord and Savior.

Sunday, we proclaim with joy that Christ has risen, a new creation has been ushered in, and evil and death have been conquered forever through the unmatched power of God’s sacrificial love.

When Jesus Christ rose from His earthly tomb on Easter morning, He restored our grace, washed our sins, and reconciled humanity with God—fulfilling the ancient prophecy that “He was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity … by His wounds we were healed.” His suffering won our victory, His love brings us life, and His Resurrection is our everlasting hope.
Other missives from Easter can be safely ignored because he done a “nice one”?
Okay, if that works for you, then fine.

"He is risen" wasn't mentioned.

I could post a meme posted by a Christian MAGA Facebook group, but I would receive a warning for an anti Christian post.

I wonder if Christians are getting embarrassed to have voted for him yet.
This probably happened a long time ago but what choice do they have, side with the democrats? Not gonna happen.

I appreciate that question.

Because of his clear disdain for Jesus and what he represented.
Thank you for the answer. And I can completely agree. The whole love your enemy and turn the other cheek isn’t being represented by Mr. Trumps actions or words.

Why just Christians?
Because they often like to be the moralists who talk down to the rest of us heathens. I’m just wondering where their high moral standards went after Jan 2025.

That’s unfortunate and definitely not what Jesus taught. Sorry you have had that experience.

When Jesus says love one another…..he meant that.

Thank you for the answer. And I can completely agree. The whole love your enemy and turn the other cheek isn’t being represented by Mr. Trumps actions or words.
In my job and the professional roles I've had, there has been a LOT of people in my life who are hard to love (abusive parents, awful individuals, violent, hatefilled youth etc...), I have found that TRump has been the hardest person to feel love for.

Most of these difficult people were due to some really awful circumstances for them.

Trump's entire life has been spoonfed to him and he's never really had to take responsibility for anything. The fact that he is so awful but ALSO had such an incredibly "Blessed life" (or could have had one had he, you know, not tried to rape so many teenage girls), makes it hard for me to love him.

To be clear, I have been able to feel love for individuals who HAVE raped girls (Worked with them). It's easier to love the victims too, but even them I was able to find something in them. IT's just...I can't find it with Trump.

I think part of that also is due to an intense anger and frustration I can feel for him as he has clearly poisoned so many people's understanding of their loving God.
