You mean somebody woke him up?
Come on Joe this way.

All Biden need do is to wait patiently on the sidelines and watch Trump self-destruct!

The American public is not easily deceived - when the Wisconsin Republicans insisted on forcing the electorate to the polls in the middle of a pandemic so as to suppress the Democratic vote and retain their conservative majority in the state courts, that prompted the voters to replace their incumbent with a more liberal candidate!

The "surge" in the polls that most Presidents receive in the middle of a national crisis bypassed Trump and went directly to the Governors whom the American electorate perceived as the real heroes in combating COVID-19!

Trump imposed travel restrictions and it helped a lot. We could be seeing far more death if Trump had not done that. He was criticized for that too however. Critics cant give him credit for anything.

Trump imposed travel restrictions and it helped a lot.

It did nothing because he didn't act until there were already infected people in the country. And his travel restrictions exempted countries in which he has hotels and golf courses.

States had to step up and impose controls, precisely because Trump kept insisting there was no need. Now he wants to give orders to them on the issue. He's lost control of the crisis, and the governors just aren't going to listen to him. Even republican governors like Sununu are telling him that he has no authority to make decisions for their state.

Its sad that you cant give Trump his due credit.

I did. When he abandoned his "it's contained" and "it's going to go away like a miracle", and started to do something about it, I gave him credit for that. It's just that he did it too late to prevent many Americans from dying.

And as you see, many states, frustrated by the inability of the WH to do anything in time, began their own efforts. And those have had very good effects. And I get it; he's obviously not sleeping well, nodding off in meetings.

Most likely, a nap in the afternoon would do him some good.

The Pinocchio Test

With more than 29,000 covid-19 deaths recorded in the United States, the highest in the world, it’s unclear whether Trump’s travel restrictions were especially effective in the long run. The WHO says such bans, at the start of an outbreak, can briefly help buy some time — but that was lost when the United States failed to quickly set up an effective testing program. Tens of thousands of U.S. citizens, permanent residents and exempted foreigners — some carrying the virus — continued to travel from China.

In any case, it’s wrong for Trump to consistently claim that the United States was first. Many other countries imposed similar bans ahead of the United States, some even tougher. The president would have a stronger case to make if he specified that he was talking about world economic powers. Nearly half of the G-20 heeded the WHO advice and did not impose such travel bans. But Italy and Australia are hardly minor economic powers and announced their restrictions at roughly the same time as the United States.

By the time this President had imposed his much heralded China travel ban on February 3rd, approximately 4000000 individuals had already flown to America from that country the month before!

Since the ban was imposed another 30000-40000 have arrived from China where the screening at US airports has been haphazard at best!

Nations like Germany (March 16th) and South Korea (April 1st) that imposed their travel bans far later than the US (Feb 3rd) and Italy (Jan 31st) have actually fared far better in combating COVID-19 because they never assumed that a ban would protect them!

Trump's claim that his ban saved lives is bogus, because it was too little too late!

A travel ban to stop a pandemic is basically public relations. It's meant to give an illusion of action without actually doing anything. It never works by itself.

And we're paying a price for that foolishness now.

S. Korea is now over the worst and moving back to normal. In many places in the United States, the worst is yet to come.

TRAVEL BANS

NATION - DATES
***********************************************************
Germany - March 16th

Italy - January 31st

South Korea - April 1st

United States - February 3rd

The World Health Organization has stated that travel bans can provide a brief pause in the rate of infection but they can't stop the inevitable - the virus was already embedded in the population before Trump introduced the ban, when individuals start being hospitalized it was already too late!

The dates of the bans tell it all - introducing a ban at a early date is not a good predictor as to curbing the pandemic, early and comprehensive testing, combined with tracing, were the critical factors for Germany and South Korea identifying and isolating the carriers!

America remains far behind the curve when it comes to implementing those measures that actually work, and no amount of reassurances from this President can mask those failures!

See above. We did it before Germany and South Korea, both of whom did a better job of controlling the outbreak.

I did give Trump credit for changing his position from "it's a hoax" and "it's contained" and admitting it was a huge disaster.

In the past, I gave him credit for backing sentencing reform and for bombing Syria when it tried to again use chemical weapons.

And I criticize him when he messes up. As he did this time.

Will go down in history
as one of the best Presidents

Perhaps his most notable contribution was promoting the ingestion or injection of disinfectants to "clean the lungs."

That one will be around in history books for a long time, I think.

Not meant to be taken serious.
Some wouldn't know that.

...the irony of this post is pretty amazing. :sorry:
tulc(pretty much off the scale)

Trump will look great on Mount Rushmore.

Children will ask
was that the Great American President Trump?
The man who made America Great Again?

Some silly ones claimed
he wanted to be king
but, we know better
don't bow, salute.
