Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

This is the president’s highest job approval rating since mid-June of last year. President Obama earned 45% approval on this date in the second year of his presidency.

It’s the economy. People tend to vote with their wallet.

That is why, IMHO, the generic poll is statistically tied. Wait till this fall when people are seeing the lasting impact of the tax cuts.

I agree, but President Trump should've had a much higher rating than this waaaaay back.

He's had everything but the kitchen sink (including those very close to him claiming to be Republicans) coming at him since way before the election. Yet he has survived it.

This poll is an insult.

Praying.

Who will be laughing in November. That is the big question.
The opposition party almost always wins the off-year elections.

It won't be a bad thing if it opens up honest dialogue. We'll see.

Obama was giving us Obamcare at the time and only about 45 % of people either liked the idea or were believing the misinformation about it. the rest knew it was a disaster and Obama's approval rating showed their displeasure at the time. The onslaught by the media against Trump has backfired as is usually the case when one jumps the shark. You can't simultaneously call the same person an evil genius and a moron and have people take you seriously. They tend to realize that the one doing the name calling is simply too emotionally invested with hate for that person to think clearly.

Granted.

But has anything about his campaign and resulting election been expected or “almost always”

He inherited an economy on the upswing and a friendly Congress. If he were working it, he’d be in the sixties.

I wonder if the questions that gave us the results were directed at his policies or his person.

Fivethirtyeight has him at 40%, I suspect bias. By the way, they have Obama at 48% at the same time in his administration and he wasn't under investigation.
So Trump would be soaring if not under investigation?

I doubt it, but that is a constant thing with this administration. Obama didn't have that problem, that was my point.

Well, yes.

Consider the alternative that all the investigations are having no effect on Trump's approval ratings.
