Rioted in the Capitol,
I do remember when the Capitol police invited people into the Capitol, although one of them did murder a young lady in cold blood, and faced no charges.
immediate filings for impeachment, calls of how he was an illegitimate President, claims that he would sell us out to China and was corrupt, claims he was a socialist and would destroy American Democracy, the "Let's go Brandon" chants (with what what it actually meant not able to be posted on CF), refused to work with Democrats, etc.
So you're saying...the Right engaged in politics and political rhetoric as we've done since the time of George Washington. Okay, off the top of my head, what I recall from the Left is Joe Biden saying he wanted to beat up Trump. Robert DeNiro saying he wanted to punch Trump. Johnny Depp saying Trump should be assassinated. Madonna saying she wanted to blow up the White House. Kathy Griffin posing with a mock up of Trump's bloody, decapitated head. I don't recall any notable figure from the right expressing the urge to violence which is inherent in the Left.

At least we are unburdened by what has been.

I don't think there was any question that she was going to concede. This was such an overwhelming landslide that there was no chance of anything else.

Nothing to fight. I will say that the Democrats really need to re-evaluate what they've been saying and advocating.

Even today Democrats were blaming patriarchy for the loss.

For years the left has called the right "the party of hate," but have leveled every level of hate at us, fear mongered, and said it's the end of democracy (how the other party getting in ends democracy, I have no idea), calling Trump Hitler, his followers Nazis, a dictator, his followers garbage, deplorable, etc, hopefully, many on the left will realize they are the party of hate and they can't win an election on hating Trump or inspiring fear. They didn't talk about the issues. They ran on fear that if Trump won, it would be the end of democracy, the end of reproductive rights (which no such thing exists), the end of our country. It all boils down to the majority of the country feeling as if their lives are much worse off now than they were four years ago.

Yet, the reaction from the left this morning is more division and hatred. We didn't vote on the issues, but rather because we didn't want a woman of color to win

They lost because Harris only cared about abortion (murder of the most innocent) and bringing Trump down. She wasn't concerned about families who needed jobs to put food on the table. It was all about hate, hate, hate.

Kamala failed to do that. On just about every hot button issue (when right-leaning interviewers/pundits would set the trap), she'd either dodge and appeal to generic platitudes, or give somewhat non-committal answers.
So Kamala in her concession speech said she was proud of the campaign she had run. Fair enough she's entitled to her opinion but her campaign was filled with having only preapproved questions wherever she'd go with stone walling people all the time when asked about key issues. The American people even through the popular vote however have spoken......they didn't feel the arguments she made were of high quality enough to be President.

Yeah it was hyperbole on steroids great exaggerations or .....lies.
They ran on fear that if Trump won, it would be the end of democracy,
Yeah that was about it.....THE END OF DEMOCRACY. They failed to factor in however that Trump WAS the President before. At what point did we see the end of democracy occurring? I do feel great sorrow though for some who allow that nonsense to go down deep into their thinking to me they become mere puppets on the strings for those who down right know they've been exaggerating.

Yeah you'll always get some of those accusations. I do believe though there are more than many could imagine that do want to work to bring a peace and unity and are aware a lot of exaggerations go on.

I honestly think the continual pounding of Trump as a facist and Hitler hurt them as well as the abortion issue.
Yeah I think that too. It was way too much of cursing what they claimed to be darkness but never themselves turning on the LIGHT or showing why they are good. They thought they could get by by repeating Trump is no good with every line they said. I'm not sure the Dem will ever seek to run a campaign like that again. Very short on substance on why you should vote for them.

No, but I think it should certainly inform to what extent we support and celebrate their campaign and victory.
Sure I can agree with that. And I'm sure Trump knows many who voted for him don't necessarily agree with him about everything.

A strange thing about this is headlines saying "Harris still hasn't conceded". And I'm thinking, conceded from what? Meaning that President Joe Biden is the actual incumbent. It's going to be Joe Biden handing the keys of the White House back to Trump. It's going to be Joe and Jill Biden who meet Donald and Melania Trump at the White House to trade positions. This is really between Biden and Trump now. Harris is out of the picture now back to just being the departing VP.
True but the Vice has to certify the election results.
